A beautiful place for hikers, bird lovers and anyone who wants to melt away into nature. Very clean and the routes are well marked. A great family outing.

I did a trail run/hike up to the top of West Peak. The bottom trails of Helderberg are well marked and utilized, however the upper trails are not as well maintained and require you to be very careful. It is well worth it for the view at the top of the mountain though! It felt safe in terms of security and the facilites at the entrance were good.

No food here and poorly demarcated trails. Granted this was middle of a pandemic but how hard is it to make an omelette?!? Very disappointed.

The most beautiful views and walks for all levels.
The nature reserve is well cared for and a wonderful area of conservation for typical fynbos. Love it there.

Superb hiking trails any time of year for any age and fitness level. Scenic and well maintained reserve. Photographers will love this venue too! Look out for live concerts in summer too!

The reserve is a superb venue for hiking up and around the mountain with around 4 marked routes of varying difficulty. Beginners are catered for too. There is a lovely dam with a nice cafe serving reasonably priced light meals and snacks. Picnics are on the lawns just inside the entrance in the shade of several trees. Lovely place to spend a few hours at minimal cost.

I agreed to go for a 'walk' with a lovely friend and discovered where we were going to be a lot more adventurous than I'd expected. It was hot, but we left quite late in the day. The tracks (in my inexperienced opinion) are well laid out and easily accessible. The views are spectacular. Some of the paths are quite treacherous with lots of loose gravel, but overall it was a great walk that I look forward to doing again. The availability of annual membership definitely makes it more appealing. The glass of fresh orange juice from the little cafe at the end was MOST welcome and the ladies who served us were very sweet and patient with our request for copious amounts of ice. I would definitely recommend this adventure to anyone with the patience and strength to just go for it. Just take it slow and enjoy the views ;)

Great outdoor walking paths and natural beauty with short and long walks without gradient or with gradient with abundance of plant and bird species to observe

We decided to go for a walk and do realise it was probably far too hot to go walking up a trail.
The lady in the shop explained that there were several trails we could walk, but they were all very clearly marked - so off we went with a very sparse map
Although there are about four different walks to choose there is no actual signage as to which trail you are following - all the signs just say 'All Trails' - not very helpful when you just want to do the easiest trail which should take about 45 minutes.
An hour and a half later we finally found a trail that started to take us downwards and eventually got back to the car park
We had a long'ish walk but really didn't see anything interesting or unusual - perhaps it was just too hot for any birds to show themselves
