Wine Escapes was born out of a love for South Africa, its great wine and a passion to share our wine culture and heritage. Our vision is thus to partner with various wine farms in building South Africa's reputation as a wine destination of choice. To do this we offer specialized, exclusive wine tours where guests are introduced to some of the best Estates and wines, whilst providing them with excellent service and hospitality.

When Delta delayed our flight for 13 hours, we knew that we wanted to have a full day private wine experience and booked with Wine Escapes. Everything from the first communication, to the pick up, to the wine tours, to an impeccable lunch, to the rich conversation to the drop off was outstanding.
Our guide Louw was amazing. He was knowledgeable, kind, funny, interesting, and committed to providing us with a superb experience. We enjoyed our conversation with him so much that we asked him to join us for lunch at an excellent restaurant with stunning views, Glenelly.
Not only did we have an opportunity to try delicious wines at small boutique estates, we learned an incredible about the region and the culture leaving us with a thirst to learn more. Louw was not only a fabulous guide, he became a friend in just a few short hours.

Martin was full of knowledge on the wine country & he knows WINE really well! He was AMAZING! The wineries we visited were small & personable with GREAT wines! Would highly recommend wine tours with Martin- you won’t go wrong & you’ll may even get insider perks at the tastings.

The wine tour was incredible. Our driver and guide, Lo was wonderful. We had kids with us and Lo took us to wineries with plenty of green space to play and enjoy the gorgeous weather. Lunch al fresco with the best views. Flexible schedule. Highly recommend. 5 stars. Thank you for helping us celebrate in ZA!

Fantastically fun and educational wine tour. John was amazing and tailored the day to suit our needs and wine preferences. Would certainly recommend the cheese pairings as well. We will be back!

Great place .. great time ! We had an amazing time around Cape Town and then at the wine lands, Low our guide was very atentive and he had all the experience to make us Enjoy the city safely

We did the tour with Martin Stevens. The Wine Tour was very nice, with lots of information on beautiful and very different wine yards. Hard to say about a favorite, because every wine yard had somerhing special. A beautiful day with a really nice tour guide. We can recommend this tour and would do it again.

John Grant, the owner and director, did a fabulous job arranging our custom tour and tastings. He guided us through a truly memorable day. South Africa was spectacular experience. Enjoy!

Thank you for the questions.
Our tours are private and tailored to your palates and tastes. What we usually do is find out what you drinking and the build the tour around that. We usually visit four or five wineries in a day, stopping for lunch at one of them. The tour usually runs from 9:30 until 17:30, but this is also up to you because it is private.
