Even though I can't drink wine as I have a sulphite allergy, I thought the tour was very interesting. My husband really enjoyed the wine tasting seated outdoors under trees, and I enjoyed an Appletiser appreciating the fabulous views over the vineyard!

...with blooming jacarandas everywhere! Beautiful old houses and surroundings but staff was way to stressed to make it a good experience unfortunately

This was my second time visiting De Wetshof - BEST and by far the most impressive selection of Chardonnay. Heinrich was an incredible host, and his sommelier knowledge was just the icing on the cake :)

If you come through Robertson, the De Wetshof is a must for all wine drinkers, particularly when it comes to white wines. Ask for Heinrich who will make the wine tasting experience second to none. Famous for its Chardonnays and Cap Classique, the De Wetshof also makes some of the best Provence-style rosés in the area (and I am NOT particularly a rosé drinker!). Also nice red wines. You have plenty of wine to chose from, the setting is spectacular as well. The whole experience is grand and beautiful, you can buy some of the very best wines in South Africa and the prices are truly super fair.

Beautiful and well kept property, including the garden. Very relaxing wine tasting experience under oak trees. Was such a pleasure to meet Heinrich, who is very knowledgeable about wine and extremely friendly. Chardonnay is their speciality. Highly recommended for a "feel good" wine tasting experience.

I am in the boutique wine industry in California and have tasted around the world, I must say De Wetshof was the best Chardonnay tasting I've ever done full stop! The staff was extremely knowledgeable and knew a lot about the soil and wine chemistry. I would love to be able to take my friends here, if you are anywhere on the western cape make the drive for the Chardonnay. These wines will age 50 years no problem. I do drink quite a bit of old European wine and you can tell these wines will tell stories for decades. Couldn't have left happier!

The spectacular old building adds to the glamour of winetasting here, and this is why it is different from the more contemporary tasting spots in the area. most of the wine is for the export market, so not easy to find locally. Their Riesling is famous with the distinct diesel on the nose, very different and special. We loved all the wines !

Well worth a trip up from Cape Town. De Wetshof was super welcoming, Henrich took his time to explain the process in detail and the wine tasting was not rushed. Take the time to go there and try the Thibault Merlot 2012. It's stunning! 1 bottle down, 14 to go!

Impeccable wine-tasting experience, we as a family had on Saturday 15 May 2021. A warm friendly welcome we received from Mr Heinrich Bothman, sampled of thee most palatable wines from this unique region. And what a wealth of knowledge from this young man, and so appreciate the experience of the cellar tour, WOW, was blown away...... It was well worth the travel to Robertson, and i WILL certainly be back.
