A Lifetime of memories

For a few rand you can imagine the life of a remarkable lady who collected a huge range of every day and not so every day items used in Karoo life. Tied in with some really interesting descriptions of what was clearly a tough place to settle, this is woth an hour of anyone's holiday.

History....
Mar 2017 • Couples
This museum offers a lot of insight into how Prince Albert was formed over the years. Even though the museum itself boasts many antiques collected by Fransie Pienaar who lived in the town, the history of Prince Albert was collected among her other treasures. It is definitely worth a visit.

An enthusiastic and knowledgeable greeting served as a great introduction to a superb collection of material that served to illustrate the history of Prince Albert in a unique manner

The museum houses artefacts from the Victorian (white) area, but it was extremely disappointing to see the poor display of the KhoiSan history.

compared to the regions other museums, this one is lacking in a few aspects. a well documented museum yes, but could a fresher approach could not be harmful. it feels like a museum..old

A pleasant little museum

Maybe we had been spoilt by the overwhelming impact that the Villa Kruger had on us, so that a visit to the museum was pleasant, but without any inspiration or memories.

Interesting insight into the history of this beautiful town

A very interesting way to spend a morning catching up on the history of this beautiful town. Very well maintained with friendly staff and a small but, "well stocked with sights" museum

Facinating history of area. Not to be missed.

This museum houses a collection of antique lifestyle items which depict the history of rhe town. Simply interesting to learn about the building of the Swartberg Pass which is breathtaking. A great overview of the past. Allow at least an hour. Don't miss the fossil exhibition which is an an adjacent room.

Stale and pointless

This musuem puts the history of all the people of Prince Albert to shame. It is focussed on celebrating the victorian age - with little mention of the indigineous people. A dull contrast to Villa Kruger
