Service really bad
Jun 2019 • Friends
I can't blame the waiter for lack of service and total lack of knowledge, it is the fault of management. Problem was that there was absolutely no management there!!
I ordered a double gin and tonic, and they served it full to the brim with tonic, so I sent it back, and asked for the tonic to be served separately.
I then made the mistake of ordering the spinach, feta and mushroom toasted sandwich. I honestly couldn't see any filling inside, so sent that back, untouched.

Very cool for gin but don’t have the wine!
Apr 2019 • Couples
It’s a very trendy stoep that is clearly very popular, but they won’t see me again. They charged me R 95 for a glass of wine! Other places in town asked R40 for the exact same wine. So it’s not that the wine is really special. The gin does look super cool and fancy but must I really pay that price for just having a glass?

Great gin variety

Enjoyed an afternoon drink here. Lots of gin to choose. Inc gin on tap. Only gripe being not enough seating on the inside, so if it's really cold you have a problem

Nice surprise
Dec 2018 • Couples
Opposite to the guest house we stayed in so had to give it a try.
Sat down, given drinks list but then waited and waited!
Gave up in the end and went for a meal.
Decided to try again after the meal.
Service was better and ordered 2 craft gins.
Very nicely presented and tasty .
Ordered two more so a nice end to the evening.
May go again tonight.

Great Find in Prince Albert
Dec 2018 • Family
One of the few places open on a Sunday afternoon (luckily for us!). Great selection of GREAT gins, presented well and paired with good tonics. We shared a platter with the family was awesome. The staff were friendly and couldn’t have been more accommodating. Will definitely be back!

Sipping pink gin on the Stoep
Jun 2018 • Family
Lovely place with a nice atmosphere. We had a lovely time sipping some pink gin on the stoep on a sunny winters day.

If you want to do G&T's well you need to try harder!
Oct 2018 • Couples
We were looking forward to a well earned G&T at the Green Prince on a warm afternoon. The interior is pleasantly cool and inviting but the G&T's were very disappointing! Being kept on the counter top, the tonics were unfortunately warm. The barman tried to mitigate this with a large quantity of ice but water from the fast melting ice simply overwhelmed the tonics. This resulted in flat, rather tasteless room temperature drinks. The expensive fancy gins could just not make up for the poor mixing. There were also no sugar free tonics and no limes! For heaven's sake Green Prince, if you want to do G&T's well you need to try harder - keep your gin cold and your tonics even colder!

Just next to but part of the Swartberg Hotel is The Green Prince Gin bar. The gin bar offers a variety of local gins. The tasting platter consist of 6 different flavored gins. The bar also offer Gin & Tonic on tap. The gin bar is a nice addition to the historical hotel and town.
