Probably the best market in South Africa. Arts, crafts, food, clothing and much more. Best of all no problem with parking. A lot of visitors don't know where it is. Go to Hout bay mariners wharf and keep driving round the bay. It is not at Mariners wharf. Indoor market

Definitely worth a trip. A bustling, interesting market. Lots of stalls selling food, clothing, leather stuff & jewellery. Outside of the indoor area there are other stalls selling metal sculptures made out of recycled car parts. They really are incredible.

a fab place to experience a real Cape Town vibe - fantastic food stalls, lovely market stalls showcasing authentic african creativity, loads of cool stuff to buy (esp for tourists wanting great souvenirs that aren't tatty), and always great music! Go early to get a food table!

I love the Bay Market - their stalls offer a variety of items, they're reasonably priced (i.e. not only priced for foreigners) and there's a great mix of locals and tourists. Variety of food on offer and good prices (try the Dim Sum or Fish stall). Parking can be a bit tricky but it's good for all weathers and makes... More

This place is different. The energy is great. Shop here for handmade products be it an item of clothing or a simple fridge magnet to take back home. If you don't want to shop then get there early and find yourself a seat grab your drink and enjoy all that Bay Harbour market has to offer. Food aplenty here. Freshly... More

Kalkbay is 39 minutes drive south of Capetown and is a little village with a pretty tiny harbour. You van see the returning boats for the catch of the day at noon, but the little cobbled streets, shops and restaurants make this an easy place to while away the time and forget the fast pace of city living. Antique stores,... More

All markets in South Africa sell the same rubbish They are tourist orientated and the only exuisite item that is different in this market from others are the distinct Hout bay items The rest is obtainable from any other road side stall all over the country The harbour area used to be spick and span

So much choice in different foods! You never quite know what you're going to have & once you order you see something else that catches your eye. A must is to get there as it opens because it is so popular it fills up quickly.
