A small museum within the grounds of the Huguenot Museum complex, it contains a series of informative posters detailing the history of the development, manufacture & many uses of perfumes. These did overlap a bit in content, so it was a little confusing. There is also an extensive collective of scent containers with some history of their design & development. They were enormously varied and ranged from basic to elaborate - a study in themselves. It was a really interesting little space to visit.

This small but quint museum is part of the Huguenot Memorial complex. It is situated to the left of the main museum building.
This is one not to miss again if in Franschhoek.
The museum traces the history of perfume making from our early civilisations through to the great fragrances of today. You can stroll around and read the very detailed and interesting information.
The museum also houses what must be one of the worlds best collection of antique perfume bottles.
If you have an hour to spare this is definitely a place to visit when in Franschhoek.

We had a birthday to celebrate and where better than with Daniella and her team at the Perfume Museum. What an experience - a WOW factor from the start to the end. Daniella's knowledge and passion was enchanting. The making of our own signature perfume was epic. Thank you Daniella and her team for a dynamic, and innovative experienced where we could learn the amazing art of creating our own perfume.

The Perfume Creation Workshop was an absolutely unique, educational, cultural and stunning sensory experience. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Franschhoek. The Kumanov's have truly created a wonderful experience and their passion, hospitality and attention to detail is second to none. Thank you, we truly and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the workshop.

Don't look further if you are looking to do something totally different and unique.
The perfume making is something definitely out of this world experience. The museum has a magnificent collection of antique perfume bottles and completely unique vibe to it. I learned so much about the history of perfume during the ages and creating my own special perfume was a great, unforgettable moment in my life.
Thank you Daniela for sharing your passion and knowledge with us.
Definitely coming back for sure.
Best experience in Franschhoek!!!

We had a wonderful time at the Perfume Museum, Franschhoek. I was part of a group of 6 people.
We were educated in the process of perfume making.
The owner Daniella and her assistant Louise, made our visit a most memorable experience.
What an experience to hear, smell and see the process of creating perfume.
I can really recommend that you visit the museum and attend an perfume works.
You will learn so much during this visit. An experience that you will never forget.

An amazing experience to see such a collection of historical perfume bottles that you will be hard pressed to find anywhere else. This is the only perfume museum in South Africa! The talk about the history of perfume is very informative. You really don't need to travel to France to experience all this! You get to make your own perfume, super fun experience!

Can I have my own blend of fragrance mixed and purchased immediately? Cost?
Written 10 March 2018
you can create your own scent. I advise you start by going on a strenuous hike on a hot day. :)

Hello Anne
Unfortunately, I cannot answer your question for you as I am not the owner nor am I employed there. From my recollection, when we were at the lab mixing our fragrances, we had numerous pure essences that we used to blend, I imagine the answer to your questions would require someone with intimate knowledge of the Nina Ricci products and while the owners certainly are very knowledgeable, I don't know if anyone outside of Nina Ricci can accurately duplicate their products.
