    Lovely relaxed wine hack......
Me and my partner went on the shorter Monte Rochelle wine hack. I am experienced but my partner is a real novice. The horse's were very well behaved, well cared for and the people were laid back and friendly. A really great experience loved it.

    Wonderful ride round the mountainside
My husband and I include a ride here every time we come to Franschhoek ! Our favourite is the early morning ride up the mountain trails with breathtaking views over the Franschhoek valleys, mountains and vineyards ! What a feeling ! Horses always nice to ride. We met the owner Peter this time and we loved here the stories and history of his family farm here since the 1850’s. Amazing place!

Wine tasting AND horse riding - is there a better combination?
I can hardly think of a better way to view the beauty Franschoek from horseback.....the added bonus is wine sampling at Rickety Ridge and Mont Rochelle. Whether you are a good rider or complete novice you will have an amazing time on the longer ride. The horses are well cared for and matched to your ability. Our guide Jolinda was a source of knowledge and engaged with us at 'best mates' level rather than systematic robotic recitation of facts. Fabulous experience.

We did the 2.5 hour ride and wine tasting.

The horses are well cared for and the riding route is pretty with some nice views. Easy for beginners to do as the horses are well trained and know the route. However, you get no instructions before you go out so I wouldn't suggest doing this if you’re nervous and have no experience.

It would be better if they spent a little more time checking you are comfortable at the stable before the ride. When we got off at the wine estate, the owner noticed that one of my stirrups was hanging lower than the other (the lady who did it at the stable hadn’t noticed and I think this was because we rushed out) after he readjusted them the ride back was much more comfortable.

Well-tempered horses, an informative guide (thanks, Jonathan), beautiful scenery and excellent wine. What could be better?

We had the most incredible afternoon riding beautiful Arabian horses through stunning scenery with Jonathan. The two stops to taste the wine and give the horses a breather were really nice. Would highly recommend

My fiance and I recently went on a 4 hour horseback riding tour of Franschhoek with Paradise Stables. Our guide was amazing! He let us ride at our own pace, took us to a couple of amazing wineries for a wine tasting, and provided great information and history throughout the tour. We certainly had a wonderful experience and I'm recommending everyone who goes to Franschhoek to stop by for one of their amazing horseback riding tours!

Horseriding is the perfect activity. Social distancing is not an issue and you will get some fresh air and enjoy a morning out in nature. Booking was easy and my guide was super friendly. I had a lovely morning. The horses are well trained and responsive. Don’t hesitate. Support the tourism industry and rejuvinate your soul at the same time. The farm is close to town and you can have lunch after you go riding.

What a lovely tranquil place to spend a breakaway , far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. You don't have to be a horse person to enjoy the farm. The quaint cottage is well supplied with wood for an indoor or outdoor fire. One is welcomed to the cottage with a couple of chocolates and some in season fruit. The television reception is not good at all but with a good book who needs it. Your sleep is peaceful without the urban sounds. Will definitely be returning to the farm.

We did a wine tasting horse riding tour on Saturday and enjoyed it so much we returned for a second visit four days later. The horses are well looked after and well behaved, responsive to experienced riders but also good for novices to ride. Yolanda was a perfect guide, relaxed and chatty. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Hope to return again
