Visited on a quiet day for a late lunch and tasting in the estate gardens. We had a couple of charcuterie/cheese boards, which were very good and ploughed our way through most of the wines. We also had an impromptu tour of the winery.
Moreson make some excellent wines, particularly their pinotage, which is some of the best in South Africa. They also do a decent gin. We bought quite a bit of wine to take away so they waived the tasting fee.

Service was average, wines were good! Seemed like there were only two working, more pushy about buying wines than enjoying the tasting.

We regularly visit Moreson to Taste and purchase as we live locally for part of the year. We visited a couple of weeks ago and had a delightful experience. The overall Manager of the Tasing room being on site. Sadly that was NOT the case on our most recent visit this week. We had taken UK visitors who were there two years ago. Tasting experience not up to standard and rushed . The guy wanted us to commit to purchase half way through lunch. Incidentally we also bought wine to consume with lunch. The light lunch was fine. We bought at least 5 bubbles etc. Then were hit with a tasting fee of 110 rand per person. Platter Guide 2020 stated fee of 60 Rand only. Needless to say I queried the amount and was told Platter incorrect. I left the lower amount and we left .It appeared to us if you were on the Wine Tram you were treated differently with an advantage of lower charges Tram users probably won't make repeat visits or purchase many bottles. Needless to say we have never participated in the Wine Tram Experience Having an in depth knowledge of the various vineyards throughout the Western Cape over the last 20 years.
Overall a disappointing visit for our friends. Foruneately turned around the next day at Vineyards off the Tram Route with crudités to have with the tastings included. See our next review.

We had popped in the day before our visit with not enough time to settle in for a tasting. The setting is beautiful & it was buzzing with welcoming staff. We were leaving Franschhoek the next day o we decided to return the next morning. Sadly there was no vibe and we were not made to feel welcome - I guess the place had not really woken up. The tasting was comparatively expensive and not very enjoyable. The moral of this story? Don’t go too early.

We had a fabulous wine tasting here and were able to taste a range of wines including the delicious MCC. We were impressed that the pours were generous and gave ample opportunity to really taste the wines. Good information and friendly service. Our purchases eliminated the tasting fee, so we spent that and more in the gift shop which has some very attractive items. After tasting the great wines, we decided that lunch would be better than heading off to another estate, which was a great decision. The estate has beautiful gardens and everything looks lovely. Recommend.

We came to Moreson unexpectedly on our wine tour as our lunch ran over and the original destination closed for the afternoon; but no regrets - we sampled some delicious wine particularly their Dr Reason Why Chardonnay - we are not chardonnay people yet we bought two bottles. They also produce a gin which is lovely. Gorgeous property and lovely staff.

We visited today. I had last been there more than 10 years ago. I had happy memories and had intended to buy two cases of the Magia to ship back to UK. Unfortunately the service was just terrible. We sat down to have 5 wine tastings. After the second one, we had to start chasing up the waiter. We asked for prices to ship cases to London. We got no answer. It was 4 in the afternoon and they were busy serving big tables of people who were still lounging around after a lazy lunch. In the end we left after just 4 tastings. We shipped back our wine from Anura, where the service could not have been more different and delightful.

A tranquil setting in the shade of large trees on a farm near Franschhoek. Extraordinary variety of different vegetable plates with meat or fish on the side. Friendly and welcoming service and well trained staff.

I was surprised to hear that the chef from Foliage Resturant is now doing a lunch menu at the Morseson winery. I had intended to visit bread and wine restaurant, I was disapointed it had moved location, however, my disapointment didnt last long as the food served was excellent, resfreshing, vibrant and creative food. A must try, and another reason to visit Moreson, apart from the beautiful gardens and bubbly.
