Discover the Vineyards of Franschhoek. The Franschhoek Wine Tram hop-on hop-off tour is one of the best ways to discover the true essence of the Franschhoek Valley - picturesque vineyards, breath-taking scenery, warm hospitality, world-class cuisine, fine wines and a 300-year history. Tour Experience: Passengers aboard the hop-on hop-off tour will experience a unique and leisurely introduction to the Franschhoek Valley as they journey through rolling vineyards in an open-side tram and open-air tram-bus stopping at some of South Africa's oldest and most distinguished wine estates. A combination of tram and tram-bus follows a loop of stops allowing guests to hop off at each stop and experience the activities on offer, such as wine tasting, a cellar tour, lunch or simply a stroll through the vineyards. When ready guests simply hop on to continue the tour. The tour takes guests into the heart of the Franschhoek Valley, with a guided commentary and unparalleled views of the valley and vineyards. A bit of fun but really only does 2 stops before you take a bus for the remainder, quite good fun meeting couples from everywhere and then bumping into them again. Look out for the Winery's that offer snack or cheese boards as it is...More

Dear Rameman Thank you for taking the time to share your review, albeit that the 3 bubbles are way below what we strive for. As you point out not all the wine estates in the Franschhoek Village and Franschhoek Valley lie on the railway line....More

This is an absolute must although I would try to stick to the bus options rather than the tram. We did the Orange Route and had a wonderful day. Noble Hill and verde de lust are a must

If you are going tasting, don't drive, do it by tram! Great choice of vineyards to stop at, the people become really 'fun' after lunch!
