Discover the Vineyards of Franschhoek. The Franschhoek Wine Tram hop-on hop-off tour is one of the best ways to discover the true essence of the Franschhoek Valley - picturesque vineyards, breath-taking scenery, warm hospitality, world-class cuisine, fine wines and a 300-year history. Tour Experience: Passengers aboard the hop-on hop-off tour will experience a unique and leisurely introduction to the Franschhoek Valley as they journey through rolling vineyards in an open-side tram and open-air tram-bus stopping at some of South Africa's oldest and most distinguished wine estates. A combination of tram and tram-bus follows a loop of stops allowing guests to hop off at each stop and experience the activities on offer, such as wine tasting, a cellar tour, lunch or simply a stroll through the vineyards. When ready guests simply hop on to continue the tour. The tour takes guests into the heart of the Franschhoek Valley, with a guided commentary and unparalleled views of the valley and vineyards. A great way to visit the vineyards without worrying about having to drive. We took the green line which was great.

We booked the Blue line online - definitely recommended. This organisation made me proud to be South African. Very efficient, friendly and well organised. Allow a little more time to visit Rickety Bridge, and Grande Provence - it takes a while to get to the wine...More

The wine tram in Franschhoek is very well organised and a great way to visit a number of vineyards in a day. It allows you an hour, or two if you want at each stop. It's efficient, the staff are friendly and takes any hassle...More

We did the blue line - effortless if you book online and get there 10 min before departure. These guys run a smooth operation. Timing is perfect with an hr at each wine estate. It was a combination of travel by bus , rain and...More

Excellent way to visit multiple different wine farms. Most have some sort of snacks, cheeses and/or charcuterie and all are very well set up for your wine tasting experience. The wine farms are aware of the time restraints and are set up to feed you...More

My wife and I enjoy wine tasting especially if it is GOOD wine and not yesterday's production. The day was wonderful but not everyone starts drinking at 10.30am! Perhaps a walking visit to a vineyard should be included and for those not familiar with viticulture...More

We want to visit estates that also have cheese/chocolate and olive oil tasting as we will be traveling with our 18, 16 and 13 year olds. What line would you recommend we take? Thank you and looking forward to our visit! Ann Stern

Hi everyone, I've booked the 10am blue line but we'd like to have a picnic at Mont rochelle - it only opens at 12noon - which would mean 3 hours at the first stop on the route. It's not clear from the website or other threads if we could walk from one vineyard to another to try and catch up over the course of the day - meeting the wine tram at a stop further down essentially. Or are they just too far apart? thanks!

Hello, Can you please tell me what line we should take if we are looking to book dinner at Foliage? Is it possible to plan the day or half a day on the train with the option to plan for dinner at a specific time and place? Can you please also tell me if we were to book transportation through you from Cape Town and returning on the same day, what are the available times there and back. My husband and I are planning a visit for mid July. Thank you very much for your assistance. Shari & Christian
