Discover the Vineyards of Franschhoek. The Franschhoek Wine Tram hop-on hop-off tour is one of the best ways to discover the true essence of the Franschhoek Valley - picturesque vineyards, breath-taking scenery, warm hospitality, world-class cuisine, fine wines and a 300-year history. Tour Experience: Passengers aboard the hop-on hop-off tour will experience a unique and leisurely introduction to the Franschhoek Valley as they journey through rolling vineyards in an open-side tram and open-air tram-bus stopping at some of South Africa's oldest and most distinguished wine estates. A combination of tram and tram-bus follows a loop of stops allowing guests to hop off at each stop and experience the activities on offer, such as wine tasting, a cellar tour, lunch or simply a stroll through the vineyards. When ready guests simply hop on to continue the tour. The tour takes guests into the heart of the Franschhoek Valley, with a guided commentary and unparalleled views of the valley and vineyards. If you don't want to designate a driver and don't have strong feelings about which wineries you get to, then this is the best option for trying out local wine. Unfortunately the line we chose with a number of wineries we wanted to visit was...More

Such a convenient way to visit wineries! We recommend the blue or the red line. Our host was great and they have an efficient system for storing whatever you buy to pick up at the end of your trip. An hour at each vineyard is...More

Great way to see a range of wineries. One of our best days out in South Africa. Worth getting an early tram to see as many as possible!

The wine tram is mainly a bus but the tram links up with it for the last part of the journey. Basically it is transport to the numerous wineries in the area. There are a number of different routes (different colours) and you choose the...More

Bus and tram lovely experience. Hop on hop off good way to sample different wineries. Some of the smaller wineries had more character in our view.

As a quick FYI - you can donate a stub of your ticket to a local charity (SPCA, etc) for the company to make a donation - the boxes are around the back of the booth. Now on to the review: this was a highlight...More

Went on the blue tram during our stay here. What an experience. Extremely well organised, efficient and prompt. Good deals for tram people. Really enjoyed the blue route, only thing I would do differently is not stop at Mont Rochelle.

A great way to see up to six wineries in a day with no worries of having to drive anywhere. The guides are very helpful and the time between stops is just right to have a proper tasting and have a little look around. Fantastic.

Thank James W

Dear Sharon249 Yes, all Wine Tram tickets require payment in advance. Costs incurred at the estates are, however, settled on the day directly with the estates visited. Kind regards The Franschhoek Wine Tram Team
