Discover the Vineyards of Franschhoek. The Franschhoek Wine Tram hop-on hop-off tour is one of the best ways to discover the true essence of the Franschhoek Valley - picturesque vineyards, breath-taking scenery, warm hospitality, world-class cuisine, fine wines and a 300-year history. Tour Experience: Passengers aboard the hop-on hop-off tour will experience a unique and leisurely introduction to the Franschhoek Valley as they journey through rolling vineyards in an open-side tram and open-air tram-bus stopping at some of South Africa's oldest and most distinguished wine estates. A combination of tram and tram-bus follows a loop of stops allowing guests to hop off at each stop and experience the activities on offer, such as wine tasting, a cellar tour, lunch or simply a stroll through the vineyards. When ready guests simply hop on to continue the tour. The tour takes guests into the heart of the Franschhoek Valley, with a guided commentary and unparalleled views of the valley and vineyards. A nice way to see the valley and a fun drive above the wine country. We went to the top of the grade and turned around. A nice little change.

We did the Red route on an extremely hot day. We planned the trip beforehand and decided exactly where and when we were going to get off. We got off at 3 wine farms which was enough. The first one we visited was Leopard's Leap...More

We took the blue route and enjoyed it very much. We can recommend this trip to any one who enjoys the outdoors. My tip would be to start as early as possible to have enough time to visit all the farms on the route. We...More

Blue Line - Do yourself a favour avoid Holden Manz, Chamonix wines arent very good. Head staright to Rickety Bridge & Grande Provence these are at the end and are 10x better than the others but they limit your time there to 20/30mins!

A great and stress free way to travel through the spectacular wine country. Wine tasting was included in the price of the ticket at some vineyards.

A fantastic way to see some vineyards without your car (if you are staying in Franschhoek!). It takes the whole day to do if you are to see all the vineyards and they leave the best two till last. The first few you get to...More

Good thinking for local tourism. We picked a mid week in early April so fairly quiet but I can imagine how busy it must get in high season. Very nice staff, friendly and helpful; one went back for some clients who failed to make the...More
