Discover the Vineyards of Franschhoek. The Franschhoek Wine Tram hop-on hop-off tour is one of the best ways to discover the true essence of the Franschhoek Valley - picturesque vineyards, breath-taking scenery, warm hospitality, world-class cuisine, fine wines and a 300-year history. Tour Experience: Passengers aboard the hop-on hop-off tour will experience a unique and leisurely introduction to the Franschhoek Valley as they journey through rolling vineyards in an open-side tram and open-air tram-bus stopping at some of South Africa's oldest and most distinguished wine estates. A combination of tram and tram-bus follows a loop of stops allowing guests to hop off at each stop and experience the activities on offer, such as wine tasting, a cellar tour, lunch or simply a stroll through the vineyards. When ready guests simply hop on to continue the tour. The tour takes guests into the heart of the Franschhoek Valley, with a guided commentary and unparalleled views of the valley and vineyards. Great fun and no driving to worry about! Book restaurants in advance if you want proper lunch, but most wineries do a cheese platter which you can order with your wine. Wine tastings very reasonably priced.

Possibly the best way to see the wineries, you get on the tram/bus and get driven from place to place with options of where to get off. The guides are lovely, the tram is beautiful and almost all of the different estates are unique and...More

What a wonderful way to spend a day being driven/trained and trammed around various wineries in the sunshine.

Super way to see the different wineries around Franschhoek. They offer different routes and coloured passes but to be honest, I think they all offer something different. You hop on and hop off every hour. We actually stayed at Grand Provence as it was so...More

Slightly disappointed with the amount of time spent in the actual tram, most of the journey is actually in a truck. Admittedly that is the only problem with this trip. All the vineyards you visit are welcoming with a good choice and plenty of options...More

This trip is a must if you visit the area. A scenic and well organised way of visiting multiple vineyards. The only concern is remaining sober enough to get back!! A choice of routes, times and vineyards are yours to enjoy and with special offers...More

What a brilliant day out. I found myself with a spare day and was recommended to go on the Wine Tram. I booked myself on the Curated Wine and spent most of the day learning about wine production at Rickety Bridge with a wonderful group....More

Really enjoyed the Red Line and the various wineries on offer. The logistics were well managed with "to the minute" time keeping. Great way to enjoy the wines, food and the general environment of this beautiful part of the country.

You need to pick your tour carefully as its a bit confusing as to what happens at first. The main issue is, its basically a hop on hop off service that runs every hour, however, you only get about 45 minutes at the tasting because...More

Cannot fault this is well designed and well organised. Lots of wineries to visit over the different routes, bus was punctual, great that they look after your purchases over the course of the day but I do think the price of a day ticket is...More

Dear Sharon249 Yes, all Wine Tram tickets require payment in advance. Costs incurred at the estates are, however, settled on the day directly with the estates visited. Kind regards The Franschhoek Wine Tram Team
