Worth a look

A small museum giving the history of The Huguenots takes just an hour but it's worth a look. It's interesting and well put together.

Lovely monument and tidy gardens surrounding it. Information boards could be a bit better placed to appreciate what the monument represents.

the memorial monument and museum are interesting quick reference elements to a rich heritage and struggle for freedom that brought brave souls to this part of Africa. The collection of authentic objects and documents reveal life as it was then and provide a glimpse into the Franschhoek history as well as the origins of the settlers. It is fascinating to... More

Great to learn more about the history of Franschhoek and the influence of the Hugeuenots. Not high tech but interesting. It's worth asking to watch the video in the museum. The setting is magnificent.

Although from a museological point of view the museum is super outdated, the content is nevertheless well worth a few hours. The history of the French Huguenots is fascinating and their influence on the country is massive. After the museum you can go for a wine tasting somewhere, the French brought vines (illegally exported from France) to sunny SA

This building was originally in the center of Cape town and was brought to Franshoek , brick by brick and was reassembled in its current state. The building itself contains very little furniture as the Huguenots arrived with little more than the clothes on their backs. Many visitors go tho the building on the opposite side of the road to... It only costs a handful of Rands to visit this beautiful piece of history but apart from the monument itself there's not much else. The museum is tiny, but very interesting, and the grounds are beautifully maintained. Very peaceful and relaxing

Nice place to visit, very peaceful, should be linked with a visit to the museum next door to get the full benefit. I cannot understand why they are charged separately when they are both about the same subject

This is a very nice garden setting. Worth your time to stop here and take a stroll. It's very easy to find on the edge of town.
