The experience we had was amazing. The monkeys are well kept and cared for in natural, very large enclosures. The tour guide could answer our questions and every member of the team we walked past, welcomed us and were happy to share information about the programme. Will definitely visit again!

Not humanizing the monkeys, but actually saving them and finding wild adoptive mothers for the orphans. After seeing other places, this is the one I can believe in. All extremely sensible people. Volunteers come to work and help, not play with monkeys that later ill not know what to do.

Our friend, Elena Lopez Carre from Spain, visited this sanctuary and spent some time with the owners. Her feedback is that she is EXTREMELY impressed with the wonderful work done here and the professional way Volunteers from all over the world are treated her!

We spent a morning volunteering at the Vervet Monkey Foundation. It is not a tourist attraction! It is a dedicated sanctuary that is staffed by enthusiastic volunteers from all over the world. While we helped, the staff told us all about the Vervet monkeys and the remarkable work being carried out at the Foundation.

Stayed at the vervet monkey foundation for two weeks. Honestly thought I would struggle with a vegan lifestyle but was amazed how fresh and how much choice there was. Had a great trip to Kruger park organised by the owners themselves. Great atmosphere great people and a real chance to explore, socialize and a deeper understanding for animal welfare.

I volunteered here for three months. I actually extended my stay from three weeks! There really isn't enough space to describe fully the incredible experience but I'll try. Vervet Monkeys are lovely and this foundation works so hard to give these monkeys a natural life, where they get to play, groom and socialise with other Vervets again. I volunteered during... More

I volunteered with the Vervet Monkey Foundation (VMF) for four months. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish. It is very rewarding being able to work with vervets who are fascinating primates, and there are plenty of opportunities to learn about them through the founders of the center and experienced long term volunteers and staff members. Each day... More

I was lucky enough to spend 4 months here and they were amazing months! A real chance to get plenty of hands on experience with monkeys and to feel like you are making a difference. Great food, great people, great atmosphere. A four month visit has given me a South African family for life. Recommended for anyone who wants to... More
