So we had the pleasure to spend our Christmas holidays in Jeffreys Bay. Right on the beach. Such an awesome place to wake up in. Make sure you are out early to catch the best time of the day on Dolphin beach. We even played hopscotch at around 10pm one night. The family enjoyed the swimming and I did get the chance to catch a few waves with a body board. All in all, it was fun and can suggest spending some time off on Dolphin beach. Just beware that the wind can get to be a nuisance.

Jeffreys Bay or JBay (but best known in South Africa by their Afrikaans name 'Jeffriesbaai'), is really one of the most lovey towns you can visit in the world. The main beach, in recent years called Dolphin Beach locals told us, is an international Blue Flag pristine beach with blue clean water, white sandy beaches and a great safe and friendly atmosphere. Lifeguards are on duty from around 9am till 5pm.
Everyone is harmoniously having fun under the sun here -families, children, seniors and many teenagers, gays and other couples, old & young, fit and chubby - all is welcome!
The beach area also have many great and well priced restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, local food like biltong and hamburgers on the beach for $4!, ice cream stands, curious shops, a shell museum, and offers free and safe parking and is excellent for swimming, body surfing, and just having a relaxed time. We had the best beach holiday OF OUR LIVES HERE for 2 weeks after visiting many other hot spots in the world like pricy Miami, California, Rio, Alicante, The Bahamas, etc.
Bring lots of sun screen as you'll want to spend many hours there. In the summer months the water temperature is perfect around 22C -it's 72 F (Dec to Feb). It's a pity I can only give Dolphin Beach and JBay 5 stars, as it deserves 10!

Perfect for swimming in the best waves on the planet. This sea has made Jeffreysbay a top surfers destination. Forget about Hawaii for example - very polluted; silly tourist prices; expensive and not near the quality of water and surf on Dolphin Beach.

Top Beach in the world for swimming, body surfing, tanning & relaxing. Beautiful beach with life savers, golden sands. Many restaurants and eateries within 2 mins walk. Very safe, but only visit during day (10 am till 5pm), like any where else in SA. Best is to go with a friend(s).

This is a lovely location with free parking and loads of places to shop. We parked on the waterfront on a Saturday morning, the water was clean, great for surfing and swimming, and the beach sandy, this would be a great place for body barding if only we had come equipped.

Dolphin Beach is Jeffreys Bay prime swimming and entertainment beach... It has once again been awarded Blue Flag Status which speaks for itself.... Beautiful white sands and a wide beach that accommodates thousands of bathers and holiday makers. It is a tremendous draw card for this popular seaside resort town.

This is one of 12 blue flag beaches in SA. Great for swimming, clean golden sands, wonderful opportunity for surfing, kite flying, exercising, etc. A lot of speciality restaurants with access right off the beach, playground for children, access for disabled people right onto the beach.

Super blue ocean view! Lovely sandy beach with a large variety of shells to keep you busy all day. Safe swimming area. Fishing from the rocks possible even for beginners. End the day with a glass or 2 at one of the many pubs

We stayed at Dolphin's Cove at a place with an infinity pool and right on the rocky beach. Our visitors were equally as excited about the incredible view and the passing dolphins, seals and birds
