We have been to the Addo National park several times and it never fails to amaze us. There is an abundance of animals and great variety. It is wonderfully relaxing to just Park and sit and watch them in their natural habitat. The price is affordable giving great value for money. If you need a break from driving the very... More

The Addo park is great. Easy to drive around with your own vehicle. We had a regular Chevy Camry (no 4wd) similar to Toyota Corolla and it was all fine. Many roads are paved, and the gravel roads are also easy. Spotting of animals is also very easy. We booked a guide to sit with us in the car, but... More

Arriving at the park through the South entrance in Colchester is DEFINITELY the way to do this. We drove up to the main gate from there taking our time (about 3 hours with all the stops covering over 30kms). The larger Bull Elephants are in the South which we saw, but also came across several large herds of elephants down... More

We visited here for a few days before our flight home. It was an amazing experience seeing all the natural environment and wild animals was truly amazing. I did feel the man made routes were odd, some were great but the 2 biggest routes had no wildlife at all and this was clearly because of the places they went through... More

Addo can be explored as a self-drive, there are asphalt roads through the park, (and some dirt roads, but nothing that requires a 4x4). We had a car and a driver who was knowledgeable, patient, knew the park and the habits of the animals. The space is vast and sprawling, but the vegetation is scrub land, so spotting wildlife is... We stayed in the bush chalets. Very simple but it is exactly what one needs on a bush visit. Peace and tranquility reign supreme. Very helpful staff. Beautiful game park. Well worth a visit.
