We spent a day in Addo and it is beautiful and amazing. We Tried to book a safari but it was full so we went on a self drive. It was the best! At the main gate, guard told as a few informations about where were some animals and we spent the day inside and saw a lot. Elephants, kudu,... More

Took this trip one morning and really enjoyed. Our guide CK had a great sense of humour and went out of his way to let us see as much as possible. Our son actually spotted a couple of lions and CK slowly reversed the jeep back to see them and many photos taken. Anyway this was a nice park and... More

If you have experienced the Kruger park, one thing you know is that it's him he and you have to plan your drive. The addo is different. It's smaller, allows you to drive "as the wind blows" and there are spots where you can get off (at your own risk) to sit on a bench. There's the big 5 and... More

We did an afternoon safari. Much of the park is tarsealed so you can take your own vehicle. We chose to go in a safari vehicle as it is higher. We saw elephants, lion eating a Buffalo, jackals, leopard turtles, mongoose, golden and grey, kudu, elan, zebra, flightless dung beetles and numerous warthogs.

We were staying outside the park this time and not camping inside as usual. two days at Kirk wood and 2 day at Paterson. The self catering in Addo park is too expensive for us but we stay in Kirkwood very well and drive to the park in 20minutes. In Paterson we stay in Indoan bush tent and drive 10minutes... More

We have traveled in South Africa and neighboring countries for more that 25 years. Addo is on our doorstep (St Francis Bay) and it required a trip from America for my sister and husband to overnight for the first time in years. Our Parks cabin near the southern entrance was perfect. We braaied that night after a great drive, experienced... More

Addo does have a lot of elephants, although on this trip it took until the third day to really see them in big numbers. Their large family groups are quite special to observe, especially the way they protect their most junior members. But there is a lot more to see in Addo. In addition to large numbers of kudu, zebra,... More

Visited Addo on route from PE to CapeTown. Amazing national park. We choose to be driven around by a local ranger ( rather than self drive ). We cannot recommend this option highly enough. We were taken of the normal roads in to the scrub and consequently saw so much more wildlife including a lion guarding its kill ( apparently... More

I cannot describe how much I loved being in Addo National Park. I thought the whole experience was magical. There is something very humbling and overwhelming about being in the natural habitat of wild animals. Our tour group was very lucky as we went on the early morning safari tour and then went out after breakfast also. We had the... More

We visited Addo for the first time this year, after visiting Kruger and Chobe in Botswana many times in previous years. The vegetation is very different to that in the other parks and the variety of wildlife that we saw was a little limited by comparison to other parks. The only members of the big 5 (or 7) that we...
