Spent one night and it was absolutely fantastic. Hospitality, rooms and meals were absolutely outstanding. It is definitely a place to relax and unwind.
Elephants cruising right past our balcony was an early morning treat and true African experience right here in the Eastern Cape....More
I think for both of us, when you see the way some elephants are treated in some of the Asian countries, meeting and riding on elephants causes concern. We would hate to think of animals being taken advantage of.
Despite the above, the story we...More
We visited this place on recommendation from our hotel and were very impressed. The drive was interesting and not for the faint hearted, a 4 x 4 is a must.

It's not easy to get to - you'd need a 4x4 or SUV to reach the location. Once you're there, you're very well looked after. Good food and wine at very reasonable prices. The private lodges are very spacious and you get the baboons to...More
I have been fortunate to experience the Addo Elephant Back Experience on a number of occasions. The guides are well trained and caring of the elephants which seem to know the guides and there is a mutual respect. Definitely no force or prodding that could...More
Three of the four people in our group went on the safari. The back of an elephant is very wide, it's like straddling a picnic table!

Hi there, we are a private reserve adjoining the park, we are not in the Addo National Park - where are you staying in Addo? I will be able to advise whether a self drive or guided tour would be the best option for you. Personally - I prefer the guided tour, I can relax and take in the beautiful surroundings. When it is a self drive - you don't tend to relax as much - but that is my own opinion. Should you want me to refer guided tour operators to you - please contact me in 083 654 8773
