This park is down the block from my home and I have brought all my grand kids there for the great playground. They also have mini golf in the summer and a beautiful lake and rose garden if you love to go for walks.

There are a lot of walking patches within the park, as well as the rose garden and canal patches all close together. There’s lots of water, so lots of wildlife to see as you walk.

The park is very inviting. There is a paved path, from beginning to end is about 1.3 miles. However, across Metlar's Lane on the other side, there are unpaved paths, a rose garden, a gazebo and the Canal towpath. Very safe and a great park!

The nature Trail walk is most excellent for a relaxing stroll. There is always something new to see. Often will hear many different song birds. An occasional deer or fox can be seen. By the pond there are many different migratory ducks to be seen.

I have been going to this park for over 50 years. Wow it has changed over the years. But going up in Franklin Twp NJ and going to this park has been awesome. Great memories, boat rides, fishing and a lot of walking.

I asked one of the horticulturists. The tall, stucco building with faded green doors on the way from the rose garden to the perennials is the old Mettlar barn. The county has stabilized and refurbished the slate roof, but... More
