My favorite beach in Cape May, possibly in NJ
Jun 2020
This is one of those places that is not as popular since it is not close to any bars, restaurants or activities. That is precisely why I enjoy it so much.

The primary entrance is on Wilmington Ave. Once you arrive you'll see a very wide beautiful section of beach. Lifeguards here seem to be sparce compared to Cape May Beach. But there are a lot less people so if you have younger kids it's easier to keep an eye on them.

Overall, this is one of the least populated beaches that I've been to in NJ and that has a lot to do with why it is one of my favorites.

Dolphin watching plus wonderful sunsets.
Aug 2020
Very calm and clean beach. Took a walk through it after visiting the lighthouse. We were lucky enough to spot a couple of dolphin pods playing around very close to the shore. We also stayed for the wonderful sunset.

Southernmost barrier island in New Jersey.

It was one of those mystery destinations in Cape May. Beautiful quiet beach perfect for strolling along the ocean. Nowadays not much to do with poverty... Pleasant place to come back to.
The parking was free.

Most relaxing of all Cape May Beaches
Sep 2019
This part of the beach is on the north end of town before the Cape May Inlet. It doesn't get crazy crowded like the main beach right in the center of town. There is a bathroom, and a hot dog vendor right at the entrance. Our fave spot!

My go to beach in Cape May!
Jun 2019
This is my #1 beach spot in Cape May. It is at the end so seems to be less traffic and more parking and just SO relaxing!

Great beach for shells
Jun 2019 • Family
Poverty Beach, at the end of Beach Avenue, in Cape May has beautiful white sand that you sink into as walking. If you want to find some amazing large seashells, here's the place to come. Interested in local crabs, see the many ghost crab holes and if you come at the right time the crabs themselves.

Relaxation!

Beautiful beach. End of Beach Ave away from the crowd. Quiet and relaxing. Shells! There are lifeguards on duty. Street parking free. $6 charge for the day to access. Comfort station. Nice secret beach location in Cape May.
