Attend all plays each season. Have never been disappointed. This year's Christmas play was truly a unique, inspired presentation. Have never laughed so much!

Intimate Play Venue
Nov 2019
The Cape May Stage is situatied in a old converted church with seating for about 75 people all with good open view of the stage. The place is well maintained. We parked at the parking area down the street as there was no fee. We booked in advance and our tickets were ready at Will-Call with a pleasant greeting, We attended the Murder for Two Play which was pretty chaotic for the first act as the two man show introduced about a dozen characters. The second act as you became more comfortable with the two actors came together with a really good performance which we enjoyed. The stage is very intimate and they really did a great job presenting the scenery in the play.

Great enhancement to our beach vacation
Jul 2019
My wife and I attended every production of Cape May Stage this past summer. We are constantly amazed by the quality of the acting and the "credentials" of the actors - from doing Broadway to movies and TV. The selection of plays is very diverse and interesting. It is just so terrific to have something fun and stimulating to do after a great day at the beach. And, the theater has very comfortable seats arranged in stadium seating so you can see the show perfectly. We think this place is a treasure.

Taming
Sep 2019 • Couples
This little theater is a beautiful venue converted from an old church. The current play, Taming, is not only laugh out loud funny, but timely and when written prescient.
Go see it. It will make you laugh from opening scene to closing curtain.

I went to see the play "Sidekicks"
Sep 2019
I went to see the show "Sidekicks" and it was excellent. The woman who performed in the show was wonderful and the story line was very interesting. It was a play about actress Vivian Vance and it took place on the last night of shooting of the "Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour" or the last night of the "I Love Lucy" show. It was a interesting look from her perspective about what working on the show was like.

Try to get a seat in the front row as the theater is tight. I had a seat in the mid row at Christmas last year and it was painful to sit through a show with no leg room especially if you are tall.

What was nice is that I bought the ticket at the last minute and I got it for 20% less than everyone else to a sold out show (there were two tickets left that night and I got one of them). Sometimes it pays to wait until the night of to buy the tickets.

Nice 98 seat theater. Sidekicked was well done
Sep 2019
We like the intimate venue. Sidekicked was a one act, one person play. Stage is small so don't expect big productions. We enjoyed it.

Side-Step Sidekicked

So I have mixed review for this play.

Initially, the actress brought you to believe she was Vivian Vance, and although many insights were unveiled about "Ethel, Fred, Lucy, and Desi". After a few minutes it got old and the time dragged on and on.

I watched the audience's reaction to the play; they were very few laughs from the audience and just a few chuckles. The man sitting next to me in the front row fell asleep. I wasn't a fan for the clips they projected on the back wall and found they distracted you from the Actress.

Normally, I enjoy the plays we see here, but this one which sounded interesting wasn't worth my time.

PERFORMANCE NOT RECOMMENDED -- VENUE-RECOMMENDED $$$

Loved Sidekicked by Cape May Stage!
Aug 2019
The highlight of our recent vacation in Cape May was "Dinner & a Show". We had a delicious prix fixe dinner at The Ebbitt Room which was excellent from start to finish. The room was beautiful, the service was very good and the food was top-notch. We then drove a few blocks to the theater where we were entertained by the fabulous Sally Mayes, who played Vivian Vance in the hours before her last performance on the I Love Lucy show. The building was beautifully restored as a theater and the play was a great selection. Who knew what was going on behind that tv screen! We are still thinking about all we learned that night. Sally Mayes was very convincing as Vivian Vance. How did she deliver all those lines for over an hour! And every word was clear as a bell. What a talent! The whole production was of high quality. Great job, Roy Steinberg!

Sylvia

On a Sunday evening got tickets for the show Sylvia. Parking is not easy in Cape May. Small cute theatre. We had tickets in the last row downstairs - ?8 rows back, and the seats were comfortable and good view. Cute show with good acting.
