Excellent nature center with lots of viewing stations to bird watch or spot any interesting critters. Clean and pristine as it should be.

Excellent guided walk with a ranger
Oct 2019
This was a great visit. We learned about birding from the hawk viewing platform. We even saw several migrating Monarch butterflies. There was a free nature walk with a very informative ranger, who talked about the various flora and fauna and the challenges of maintaining the ecosystem, including the fight to control invasive species. The receptionist at the nature center lent binoculars to those who needed them at no charge. We very much enjoyed our visit.

Night time Ghost Crab tour
Aug 2019 • Family
We stumbled upon the nature center on trip advisor and checked out their website.

We saw the Ghost Crab tour advertised and thought it sounded awesome!

It was Thursday nights this year, and we drove down from Avalon and made a day out of it.

The tour was absolutely phenomenal! It was $5/person and we all had a blast chasing and catching little crabs along the beach!

We couldn’t stop laughing, it was such a good time!

Best money I spent this trip!

Ps: you’ll need a flash light and a plastic container. Strawberry containers are ideal!

So nice to get away
Jul 2019 • Couples
This is a great get away from the center of town, tours and the beaches. It's quiet and tranquil. Enjoy the free museum, beach and bird watching.

Come for Friday Feeding Time!! (And do the Bike Scavenger Hunt!)
Jul 2019 • Family
Even though we’ve been to Cape May multiple times, we just discovered the Nature Center after they visited our hotel with a touch tank filled with sea life. After that visit, we went to check out the Center itself and take part in (it’s first ever?) bike scavenger hunt— we were given a map and a picture of “BIKE CAPE MAY” where each letter was taken from different signs around town. It took us a couple days but we did it— and upon our return received a great gift bag filled with fun stuff. But my kids’ favorite part was “Feeding Friday” where we got to watch Mr. B. feed the Center’s resident snakes. 🐍 🐍 🐍 We’ll definitely be back!

Well Done and Easy to Visit
May 2019 • Family
A beautifully laid out and maintained facility with multiple opportunities for education and relaxation. From the internal displays [don't miss the beehive] to the elevated decks set up with spotting scopes trained on the bay, this is the perfect FREE destination for all ages. Support their mission and donate to keep Cape May filled with life and beauty.

I don't get it, nothing to do here.
May 2019 • Couples
I'm not really sure what people DO here. It's a very tiny nature center with very little available. You can climb up on the roof to get a view over the water and there are a couple of tanks with critters then a little store. We were very confused and thought we were possibly at the wrong place because there was very little here or to do! Confusing, not really worth the trip, would skip.
