I've spent a lot of time running on the rail trail but it's great for walkers and bikers, too. The rail cut about 5.5 miles from the Carter Community Building is one of my favorite spots as well as lots of views of Mascoma Lake.

I run on this trail every week. Take off from downtown Lebanon and head out to Mascoma Lake or keep going to Mickey's Café in Enfield! Safe, easy, flat trail that is great for biking or running

What a joy to ride my bike 6 miles and swim at lake Highland and ride back. We parked in Andover, NH near Potters Place and rode our bikes south east and found a lovely lake with changing area, bathrooms, and picnic tables. There were...More

My son and I enjoyed to level hiking trail. Perfect for reflections on how it might have been when the railroad was huffing and puffing steadily along the rails.

While the trail is still a bit sloppy this Spring (assuming it ever happens), transitioning from snow mobiles and skis to walking and joggers, it's still a beautiful hike out of Lebanon, along the Mascoma River, up past Mascoma Lake, and on to Canaan. So...More

For biking, walking, or running, the rail trail is amazing. Start at CCB and head toward Enfield. It is a slight uphill on the way, but nothing. very steep. It is well maintained and family/dog friendly.

Easy bicycling on the false flat. We found out that going "up" first contributes to the fun day if you want to go for longer rides. East Andover is a great place to start your trip. ample free parking. Also a stop at the renovated...More

As a flat-land biker, I appreciate this nicely maintained trail. It's also good for walkers, joggers, etc. In addition, there are some B&B's along the way if you want to plan a multi-day adventure.

I can vouch that there are stores in Lebanon (the beginning), Enfield, Canaan, Grafton and Danville. I can't say past that.
