Truckee river runs through downtown Reno, just few blocks from many hotels and casinos people come mostly for.
Riverwalk is a nice change from, during the day, dull street blocks. However, is not that interesting to walk as you see nothing interesting along it (apart the river itself). We saw many much more beautiful riverwalks in US. Also, many homeless around spoil the impression even more

Visited 25/06/23 - Lovely area by the split river, ideal for a picnic or to relax and listen to the flowing water. There are several coffee shops, bars and shops along the river walkway. Over the little bridge you'll find Wingfield park. A small island park situated between the rivers. There is also a large bandstand / stage area for outdoor shows. Overall nice little peaceful area a little block or two away from the casinos.

This is a very nice walkway. I enjoy walking along the river. Really nice break for fresh air away from the casinos.
However, there were several times I felt uncomfortable due to several (assuming here due to their bags and backpacks) homeless guys. A couple approached me, one just saying hi but the other wanting money. He went on a short tirade about choices in life, I just kept walking. Maybe if I'd been with other people I wouldn't have felt this way. Kinda sad I couldn't just enjoy a nice walk

Nice scenic and peaceful walk. Many people walking dogs. Biking or just enjoying a warm spring day. Lots of outside dining better suited to summer months ,many not open in April. Sculptures add interest. Be sure to pick up map

Even in the winter, and in cold weather, this park along the river is lovely. Lots of places to make a picnic, places to sit, some performance space, and a long walk with views of downtown, the mountain, and the rushing river.

A great way to start the day. Walked it early in the morning. It was not crowded. Did it on a Sunday. There were artists set up and a man playing the guitar. Walked all the way down into the neighborhood. Great coffee house on the path there. Beautiful houses, nice art sculptures on the path. Recommend walking one side and then the other side on the way back.

It is a nice river and a nice walk. But there isn't much to it. A few shops and restaurants.. Unfortunately there is a large amount of people that don't have anywhere else to go hanging around everywhere.. They have every right to be there, but people who may not feel safe in such a situation should know.

The river itself is beautiful and there's a nice island park, but the walk along the edge is all concrete and not-attractive buildings.

Truckee River Walk is a great outdoor walk activity when in Reno particularly if you are not into gambling like myself. The river walk is quite relaxing particularly during cool spring season. Highly recommend.

Walked from Sierra Street to Idlewild Park and back on a hot day. The river was running high, fast, and cold. Lovely walk. We met plenty of friendly locals. Be sure to bring water! I didn't see any water fountains along the walk.
