- midawg73Bay City, Michigan174 contributionsDefinitely worth your timeThis attraction has been on my list for a while. It was time to take it off the list. The Mob museum is in the former post office/court room for las vegas. The exhibits are well thought out and go in chronological order. Some of the highlights are the st valentines day massacre wall, AL capone and prohibition, kefavur hearing courtroom, early las vegas, and more modern times. Also some Mob inspired movies. I got the audio tour which is worth the extra $. Don't forget to get a drink at the underground bar.Visited October 2023Travelled soloWritten 14 October 2023
- ldjsFort Lee, New Jersey840 contributionsGreat MuseumExcellent Museum for all interested in American history and culture. Lots of interactive exhibits, plenty of historic artifacts. Well organized and easy to follow exhibits. Allocate at least two hours just for the Museum, not counting distillery.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 23 October 2023
- themontanatravelgirlGreat Falls, Montana100 contributions“This life of ours, this is a wonderful life.”Cool museum if you are interested in the mob history, which I am. My husband got to hold a real Tommy Gun. My only complaint, which I have with lots of museums, is there were too many people at one time. Hard to see the exhibits sometimes. The Underground was a fun stop after the museum.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 23 October 2023
- Kiana LAtlanta, Georgia551 contributionsHonest and informativeThis museum did not leave anything out. It’s four stories and well organized based on time periods. It’s mostly pictures and some weapons. They did have a brick wall from the St. Valentine’s Day massacre. The distillery experience was a lesson in prohibition and a moonshine tasting which was great. They also have some TV and movie memorabilia. Overall, a great experience. You are not going to see this anywhere else so definitely worth the visit!Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 11 November 2023

The staff is extremely passionate and knowledgeable about their specific area with complete timelines. The amount of artifacts contained in this museum is simply astounding. The details that is presented with each artifact is unlike anything I have ever seen. I highly recommend including the audio as part of your tour. - Lenny HAuckland, New Zealand920 contributionsInterestingI was lucky to visit during an open day. The downside was that it was very busy, but that was made up for with cheaper entry and access to some extra areas. Well worth a visit to get an overview of the impact mobsters had on the local history.Visited November 2023Travelled soloWritten 7 January 2024
- wheatonnitzWheaton, Illinois695 contributionsTourWe did the speakeasy tour and the guide was awesome. My wife actually tried moonshine, so that was worth it. The items they have in the museum are very cool and worth the visit. This is a must see if you enjoy "Goodfellas" and movies like that. Give it a go and see how they make their award winning moonshine.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 17 January 2024

Four of us strolled through the Mob Museum early on a Saturday morning (on line ticket discount for before 11 AM) and thoroughly enjoyed it. They had short interesting movies, some artifacts and a lot of information to read. The photos were interesting as was the entire timeline they laid out from the rise of Vegas to today's current criminals and cartels. They even had a display about movies and television series related to the mob and cartels with information about what was real and what was fiction.

So I got to the Mob Museum right when they opened at 9am. Since I already had bought my ticket on line, I was able to go right in once I got my wristband. They start you on the third floor and you work your way down to the Speakeasy in the basement. The third floor goes in depth into how the Mob came about and how they came to Vegas in the 20s and 30s. They even have the St. Valentines Day Massacre Wall which was awesome. The second floor talked about the 60s and the 70s as organized changed to meet the times. The first floor was about the modern mob and how the government catches them and stops them. Great place, very well done.

Very detailed historical timeline of how the mob and all illegal enterprises came to be. Utterly fascinating and so well laid out. We enjoyed our time wandering the three stories that make up the museum. Many, many artifacts, videos, and photos tell the story. Worth the money and time spent there. You do need reservations and I recommend you take advantage of the “extras” offered. We did the CSI exhibit.

The museum was very interesting and contained many original artifacts. It is a large building, so allow time to see all of the floors. The staff was enthusiastic about telling the story of the various displays. It was well worth the three plus hours we spent there. For the quality of the museum, it was well worth the price. As a bonus there is on site parking for a nominal fee. If you are interested in the history of Las Vegas and the Mob this is a definate must see.

We learned a great deal and had fun as well. Definitely a worthwhile investment in tickets and time. Additionally, the staff we interacted with were friendly, welcoming, and treated us like family, from the security guard who assisted me with the lift for my wheelchair, to the docents throughout the exhibits, the photographer, and even the cashier. So happy to have gone.

Museum is well done. It is located in a former Federal building which contained a post office and court room. Well organized depiction of both Las Vegas and national mob history. Nice mix of video, slide presentations, interactive, and static exhibits. Purchase your ticket in advance if you are able to pinpoint when you will be visiting for a fairly substantial saving on the price.

It is best to go early as the museum can get crowded in the afternoon. The distillery tour and tasting was interesting - worth the time and additional cost. The museum also contains information on the early Las Vegas settlements. I don’t find the headset rental necessary.

The Mob Museum offers a tour of how the mob was introduced to America and to Vegas. There is plenty to experience from short videos, actual mob memorabilia and interactive activities throughout. A nice touch is that they offer you a stylus so you don’t have to actually touch anything. There were areas that seemed to be more crowded than others so be aware if you are trying to avoid too many people.
Participated in the Speakeasy/Distillery tour. Jim was an expert guide. He walked us through from the beginning to the end of prohibition and how moonshine was made. Enjoyed the ambiance of the Speakeasy but the service was slow so we decided not to stay around. The Mob Museum offers something interesting and different while staying in Vegas.

The mob museum is pretty affordable for Vegas. We got the regular pass and spent about an hour reading the exhibits and watching some of the films. There’s a lot of information to absorb and interesting descriptions of the main players on both sides (mob and the law).

This museum is well worth your time. We went at 9 am on a Saturday and we’re the only ones in the museum for quite a while. They have a small parking lot that costs $8.00. They have a lot of cool artifacts. I would pay the extra $8.00 for the headsets. It is totally worth it.

My husband and I went about 4 years ago and I’m wondering if some of the exhibits change and if it would be worth going again?
Written 27 January 2023
Yes, they have expanded it, changed some exhibits (made them more easily viewed), and added some films. Hope this helps.

My wife and I parked in Binions parking garage and walked about two blocks to the museum. We then came back to Binions and ate upstairs at Whiskey Liquor Up and got our parking ticket validated. The restaurant was clean and the food was awesome and then parking was free!!
