Have been going here for years. Prefer to do it by mountain bike, but hiking is great too. Look up on the hill side, we saw mountain goats. This rail trail is unique and a must do! Great views of Lake Mead. Park at the...More

This rail-trail follows the route of the railroad that carried the equipment and supplies to build Hoover Dam. It's a wide, well-graded path for most of the 3.8 miles between the Lake Mead Visitor Center on the west end (at the intersection of US93 and...More

Hiking this trail in the springtime is beautiful. The wind is refreshing, the temperature is comfortable, and pretty little flowers have sprung up around the trail. If you’re lucky, you can see some native wildlife like rabbits or big horn sheep. The views of lake...More

Closed during the hot summer months so go in the spring and fall. Stumbled onto this on the way to the dam and returned the next day to hike from the visitor center to the dam AND BACK!

We enjoyed this walk along Lake Mead between the visitor center and Hoover Dam. It took us about 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 hours each direction, but we were going at a pretty leisurely pace. It is an easy hike but wear decent shoes as...More

This is a great hike (flat and 6 to 7 miles long if you only go through all the tunnels and turn around, about 10 miles with some elevation gain if you go down to the hoover dam and up to the bridge) with awesome...More

We took this trail when the weather was cool. The grade was level except at the end. The trail had many pretty views. The steps down to the dam were fine going down. Coming up was a little difficult, but not overly and there weren't...More

We parked at the visitor center just before the casino. Rode the trail on our bikes, nice and wide, allowing for a side by side ride and chat. No picnic spots but a couple of benches along the way (and at the visitor center). Follow...More

Yes! You can rent bikes at All Mountain Cyclery in Boulder City. I believe that they even provide pick up or drop off at the visitors centre which is close to the start of the trail. Definitely contact them to ask. Have fun!
