We didn't realize that the lake was as big as it was. We stayed in a house in Bigfork, Mt, and decided the drive around the lake one day. It took a while including stops at places to visit.

One of the most beautiful places on earth! The crystal clear water, lush forestry, the magnificent Mission Mountain range of the Rockies, it’s almost more than you can take in! Put this one on your “Bucket List”!

Visiting after Labor Day finds many things closed "for the Season". But still....the lake itself is enormous with a multitude of great viewing points. A fair number of chain motels to lodge in.

Huge lake, beautiful scenic drive with many small towns to visit. Tons of state parks and camping sites all over. Definitely a must visit if In the area even if it's a local park for lunch.

You can stay in Bigfork or areas surrounding Flathead Lake and look for a bed and breakfast or renting a cabin etc. You will need to Google and fine tune the options available.
