The Plaza offers upscale shopping and dining, and fountains. Simply magnificent Spanish architecture buildings and gushing fountains in every size and shape. Beautiful landscaping and fauna to add to the best shopping and dining experience you can have in Kansas City. Take your camera.

The fountains in this town are amazing. Big, small, ornate, simple they have them all. It seems like everywhere you go there is some sort of fountain. The lighting in the evening is definately something to see.

We visited several of the fountains scattered throughout the Country Club Plaza area. We really liked the Neptune fountain on 47th Street. Neptune was riding horses that had water squirting from both their mouths and noses.

The fountains at the Country Club Plaza are fantastic and the J.C. Nichols fountain is stunning. They never turn it off, even in the winter and the entire fountain become an ice-covered marvel, every year. It is never the same.

The fountains in the park along Main Street and in the Country Club Plaza are delightful. Beautiful and cooling to look at on a hot summer's day. Magical and calming to experience at night when they are illuminated. And to make things better, it costs...More

It answer to your question in regards to the fountains, it really depends on Mother Nature for the time line.I have seen in past years they were still flowing the night of the traditional Plaza Lighting for Christmas.

There is a map available on the fountains. Look at them and check which way the light is coming from so you know the best time to shoot. (Go to the Arabia museum. Fascinating look at the past)
