It worth to visit as it is in good shape and fully represent old northern Russian architecture. Cathedral in this Kremlin is also very beautiful and deserves to visit it.

While there we went to the top of the bell tower and into the cathedral on day and visited the museums the second day. The view from the top of the bell tower was incredible. The last level is not for the faint of heart....More

First you see the Kremlin itself and then exhibitions of ikons, some old traditional etnografic things and last gingebread museum. In summer I do advise to visit Sophia and top of belfry.

One of the best attraction of Vologda, the best during Ortidox Church selebrations, choral attractions, etc. of living church. The real Russian North fortrees looks vonderfully also from passing trains.

We visited the place during October weekend - there was only few souls inside. We did not climb the tower but enjoyed nice views of Kremlin wall, highly recommended

Well, not a lot of it is left. Founded as a fortress in 1567 and mostly dismantled by the 1820's! There are several architectural monuments which had been built at the same time now preserved.

Vologda does not have many places of interests and Kremlin is the only place to go here. Interesting statues and monuments

We had an hour or two in Vologda to spend before our trip to the monasteries in the north, so we walked from the train station to the Monastery. It's a nice place, interesting buildings, makes a lovely walk. Many churches and interesting statues around.
