We were in Medellin one evening and climbed up to the castle. Unfortunately, it was just closing (we had not checked their web-site), so we had to 'make-do' with the views from the castle walls which were simply spectacular.

We were the only people in the place and had to wait until a lady walked up the steep steps from the town to open the gate .... great to soak up the atmosphere. Great views over the old church and Roman amphitheatre too...
