Walking around Silver Lake and hearing the water, geese and ducks is a wonderful way to relax! As you walk around, you see wildlife and when you pass around or through the playground/picnic area, you get to see people enjoying each other while their children...More

There is a rather large flock of ducks and geese that live in this park year round. They are really neat especially in the spring and fall when they are joined by the migrating flocks. On nice fall, winter, and spring days this is a...More

There is a peacefulness about Silver Lake—a small bit of water on the edge of downtown Rochester. It is a great place for a stroll and for goose watching. Winter is quieter than other seasons, but there is still a lot to see.

A great place to walk around the lake no matter what time of season. Watch out for goose poop though. Plenty of parking on all ends of the lake. 2 parks near the lake one on west end and another on the east end. There...More

The paved walk around the lake is about 3 miles. There are plenty of places to take a rest and for being in the city the scenery is pleasant. Canada geese are frequent in a few places so the pavement can sometimes have some "slick"...More

I used to really like walking around Silver Lake. Not anymore. All the tall weeds planted on thee shoreline keep you from seeing the water and enjoying the view. And the goose poop on the trail is gross. Maybe our great Mayor Ardell should focus...More

Nice place to take a leisurely walk not far from downtown. Just walk some of the walk ways on the back side of the lake where it is nice and quiet. LOTS of migrating birds to observe in the fall.

No cabins. It's not the kind of lake that you vacation on, or fish on. It's more of a side attraction, actually, that you enjoy while you are in Rochester for some other event. Definitely not a lake to build a vacation... More
