I can feel the history and culture of this German town. Stroll around the Hermann Monument with my boyfriend and the dog. Very quiet, enjoyed the greenery

I grew up in New Ulm and went back for a visit after many years away. They have really done a great job restoring the statue and creating a nice little museum in the base. It is well worth the few dollars to see the...More

We were here in the second week of October and Hermann was already winterized and locked up. A city owned and operated attraction should probably be available for longer into the autumn than that. We would not have been able to climb all the zillion...More

Statue situated in a lovely park overlooking New Ulm. Charge of $3 to climb to the top for a good view. The monument is impressive for the size of the town.

Awesome view from atop monument....only $3.00 for entry. The surrounding park has picnic tables, bathrooms, and a very new playground for the kids.

Built in 1888 the statue of Hermann the great Cheruscan overlooks lovely New Ulm. He’s iron with a copper overlay. You can climb the spiral staircase for a fabulous view of New Ulm and the surrounding farmland. It’s an important piece of German-American history!

There is only a $3 entry fee to see a really unique piece of history. The climb of the spiral staircase is taxing for heavy smokers lol. When you reach the top of the initial staircase you'll be in a really cool enclosed brick attic...More
