We saw the Chain of Lakes during a tour, but were unable to get out and take a lakeside walk like we wanted to. That’s on my to-do list, and I hope I get better weather for photography. Water is a magnet for all kinds...More

The lakes are surrounded by walking and cycling trails, with opportunities for yachting, canoeing and paddleboarding on the water. There are lots of amazing (and very expensive) houses around the lakes which are as impressive as the water, if not more so. Lyndale Park is...More

I only had half a day to explore the Chain of Lakes. Not enough. It's beautiful, lots to do and lots nearby. I'm so amazed at this beautiful getaway right in the city. I can't wait to go back.

Great place to walk, bike, run. The lakes have kayaks and canoes for rent. They are part of the city's park system and are very close to downtown.

Took a 10 minute drive from my hotel downtown to this wonderful group of small lakes. I envy the locals having this hike/bike/canoe and sailing area so close to everything.

This is a tranquil area to enjoy walking, jogging, biking, kayaking, or picnicking. Kayaks are available for rent, as well.

Walking, jogging, roller blading, biking, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, fishing..... choose your pleasure. Parking is a bit limited, but this is one of the gathering places to relax, workout, and just enjoy a beautiful day outside.

You will have to check to see if there is still kayak rental into October. The bike rental may have a longer season. Walking the lakes, anytime of day on a Saturday, is great. If it's nice out, there are a lot of people out... More
