The Freed Man is a comfy and relaxed Micro Pub in Walmer. Reclaimed wood clads the walls and many salvaged items from our nearby beach can be found throughout. We serve a great and ever changing selection of ales, wine, some cider and even a few spirits! We are lucky enough to have charming and friendly local clientele. Please visit us and make yourselves at home!

Spent a happy afternoon, drinking some choice ales and enjoying some good conversation. The landlord is ex Royal Navy and was good enough to show me the old service game ‘uckers’ ( especially appreciated that he was a good sport that this rookie 8 pieced...More

Went here for the first time and what a lovely little quirky pub full of character and charm. The staff were warm and welcoming and the drinks were reasonably priced.

A superb micro-pub. A warm welcome as you come in, efficient and helpful staff. A good choice of well kept ales. Will make it a regular haunt.

Nice micro pub - albeit one unfortunately with a bar. Decent selection of beers, nice decor, range of board games available. Good peanuts from the jar too. Liked the place a lot.

Great little venue - friendly and super selection of beers. Landlord and staff friendly, nice buzz about the place. No food but no problems with bringing in excellent fish and chips (really excellent) from about 20 seconds away or super authentic pizza from opposite.

I was enslaved to a night without a decent pint but this pub freed this man for which I am very grateful and the haymans kitchen pizza place up the road ensured we were fed as well as watered.
