This is were the fighting began in the Dakota-US War of 1862. Buildings nearby are well restored. Great history and the nearby casino has good food.

There are actually 3 campgrounds. We stayed in a tent near the river. Beautiful spot near the Minnesota River. Enjoyed hiking here, There is good interpretive center with a friendly staff.
