My husband I wen to the St. Ignace Casino last year. The cigarette smoke was nasty in there. Dirty ashtrays stink too. We hate cigarette smoke! It really does ruin the experience and our lungs! Please get rid of the smoking in these casinos. You will not lose business. Have a room closed off for smokers or have them smoke outside like other casinos. The large casino room should be for non smokers. The small one should be for smokers if you insist on letting people smoke inside.

The chairs for the slot machines are old and torn. They have a few newer machines, but a lot of old ones. They have a few table games. Free pop and coffee. Casino is clean inside, staff was going around wiping machines, because of the Covid virus. Arcade is a joke for teenagers, all old games and the arcade games that do work, you cannot see the screen because the room is so bright inside from the sun shining. Our hotel room was ok. The TV inside our room was small 32” at best. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. Dream Catchers restaurant was just ok, nothing special about it. The casino is definitely dated, since we last visited 9 years ago. We live near Mt Pleasant and although Soaring Eagle Casino slot machines never pay out for us, the slot machines here have not either so far.

Our machines pay out the same as those machines do at other casinos and are within industry standard, but are random so we never know when or how much a person will win. I needed to stay in Sault Ste. Marie for a few nights and decided that the casino might be nice with something to do at night. I thought I would play some table games but that was not the case. They only had live dealers on Wednesday to Sunday. I played a few slots but didn't have any luck. They have a temperature check at the door. The casino did seem very clean and had free soda and coffee. The hotel was okay but the rooms that are smoking hold the odor. They have non-smoking rooms but none were available. The rooms were slightly dirty and rooms are not cleaned daily, only when you leave. Okay for a short stay.

To start we made 3 reservations, when we got there, they only had 2 of our reservations, I asked if they had another room and I was told no, I went online to their website and it showed rooms available for a Higher price, I showed it to her that they had rooms on their site she said again we have no rooms, so I booked it for the 3rd couple after they just drove 4 hours to get there, I went back to the counter said now do you see a reservation she said yes, so if you didn't have any rooms how did I just get one?
If this hotel was full why was the casino so empty you were lucky to see 100 people, there?
Then rooms are to be ready by 4pm, the 3rd couple showed up room is not ready she checked back with them at 5,6,7 and 8pm still not ready, she told them to pretty much shove it and left going back to St Ignace staying and going to that casino.
The restaurant's Buffet was closed Sunday, and the restaurant was closed Monday and Tuesday also the Sports lounge was closed, the Bistro was the only thing they had open.
Our room had a couch in it, it was so dirty and broken down I told my husband not to sit on it, the tub had a hold in it, the floor was cracked, the sink had no stopper in it, the door was all cracking off at the bottom and the wallpaper was moldy and peeling off up above the tub. The carpet in the room was loose so as you walked you could trip on it and it was very dirty, we kept our shoes on.
We were gambling at around 10:30 pm they came across the intercom and said due to a staff shortage the Bistro was closing at 11pm, normally it is open 24hrs, 7days a week and if you hit a jackpot there would be no one there to pay you? didn't say when you would get paid or what to do if you did hit a jackpot.
I would advise not to go here until they do some updates and some heavy cleaning of the rooms, removing the old dirty furniture!!!!! and get more employees. it used to be very nice but not anymore.
If you have a staffing issue that is not the problem of the customer who paid to stay where there and expected things to be open and things to be clean.
if you cannot supply that put that on your website.
We will no longer go to Kewadin in Sault Saint Marie Mi.
We will go to the one in Saint Ignace Mi. unless we get there,
and it is the same way.

Plan this trip over six months ago and when we booked nowhere on their website, did they say the hotel was under construction and they would have no Jacuzzi only to get here and check in and find out and it’s a very dirty and dusty environment. They should let people know this stuff ahead of time or at least give notice when I asked the desk people about it. They were very rude and basically said it is what it is. There’s nothing they can do so that’s the reason I’m writing this review. If you wanna stay in a dump this is the place if you wanna put up with construction and dust without knowing about it until you arrive this is the place if you were expecting a whirlpool and get there and there’s none this is the place from me. I’ve been to a lot of hotels and casinos and this is one of the worst and some of the rudest people I’ve ever dealt with

This hotel / casino has declined significantly in quality and value. Prices for food and lodging are high while the quality is quite low. My room was badly in need of maintenance and had several very inconvenient problems. The main problem was room temperature. I had the room heater set to the highest setting and I'd estimate the room was 60-65 degrees F maximum. The staff only say they are working on improvements, but that doesn't help when I'm uncomfortable, unhappy, and feel quite cold. The casino is similarly disappointing. I would NOT stay at this facility again.

While the room was newly done so by default very clean, they are in the middle of construction. To get to our room we had to walk through the drywall dusted construction area. It was overall just creepy. The bed was super uncomfortable, you had to have a streaming service to use the TV, the internet connection is awful, and I’m pretty sure they got their towels at a bargain basement sale. They really need to take a field trip to the Holiday Inn if they want to know what comfort looks like. We abandoned the free room and paid for another one at a different hotel.

Buffet restaurant was a joke. Called a few hours before dinner to inquire about the menu. Once arriving at 4:00 the menu changed. Once seated and at the Buffet, the menu changes again! Replaced fried jumbo shrimp with mini corn dogs, really?? Replaced fried cod with country fried steak, seriously?? The service was okay. Beef carving station provided meat between rare and raw, yes I mean raw! Dessert was crappy packaged pie and cake. At $25 a person, AVOID this place!!

We called reservations and was told all rooms were full for July 8, 2021. Upon checking the internet we booked a room that was standard and the cost was $175. After staying overnight we went to rewards and received a comp for our room. Next we went to the Hotel Desk for checkout and we’re told,”You can not use this Free Hotel Comp, because you booked it online and that was a third party. We had no idea we dealt with a third party as it was the Kewadin Website with no mention of a third party. We checked out, sent two email complaints to Kewadin and have heard nothing. This left a bad taste in my mind and I hope people realize their website is a third party , Kewadin won’t help and the cost could be much greater than others are paying. Unless this is resolved I will never go back.

Staff rude, half the amenities were closed or shut down. Building was under construction and nasty. It took nearly a week to try to get a partial refund, nothing. I suggest anyone to find a better hotel who expedia can actually get ahold of.

They had a special buffet for St. Patrick's Day and it had a special price. Not sure about the rest of the holidays. You can call them and find out, tho, they are a very helpful staff.
