Well worth the visit but if you are a bit unfit you will pay dearly by the time you reach the top. I admit it was a very hot day, 39c and my legs complained at the excess weight I had gained over the years...More

A must see if you visit South Western Aveyron. Old castle from 13th century. Still has fully intact main tower. Great history including a visit from Richard lionheart. Wonderful 360 degree views showing oxbow in river around fortress.

Stunning village, times for the castle /château mean its closed during lunchtime, but they are a few lovely cafes /restaurants along the main street. We chose a boulangere at the top the village and had a lovely rustic sandwich and sat in the covered bandstand...More

One of the major tourist attractions of the region, the village and chateau at Najac are well worth the effort to get there. A pictoresque village, and superb views from the chateau over both the village and the surrounding countryside make for great photographs.

Najac is a beautiful little place to visit. Extremely quaint and very pretty. The walk to the fortress is hard work up some very steep and historic streets but it is definitely worth the effort.

Lots of steps to climb but worth it for the view from the top. The stone staircase, to the top of the tower, is quite narrow for passing others. A written guide is available in English. The 5 euro entry is very responsible.

Our family of 3, including our 12 year old daughter, toured the fortress and spent about an hour here. We do not speak French, so were provided a laminated tour brochure that we returned to the desk when we departed. We also visited the church...More

This is a very good example of mediaeval castle building, full of interest. It is well worth climbing to the top of the tower, through two chambers and the chapel, to get fantastic views over the Averyron River and the countryside. It also has the...More
