This is a good way to get away from the zoo that Munising can be. I barely saw another person while I was on the island. There are many historic buildings on the island and some of my favorite hiking in the area. Plan a...More

We saw this lighthouse both on the way out and in of our cruise of Pictured Rocks national Seashore. The captain told some interesting stories about this lighthouse, which, by the way, is in a relatively protected area from the mean Lake Superior storms.

We took the ferry over with our dog for a day trek. The ferry ride was about two minutes. The scenery was amazing and wished we had planned more time to do this. It's difficult to see much in a few hours (there are many...More

I did not actually walk on the island but I can see it from pictured Rocks cruise. The island looks so green with trees in the summer with clear blue lake surrounded, a nice lighthouse on the shore.

I found this light house quite charming. From the pictures I had always thought it was a church! I love learning about the real history. Very cool

My husband and I spent two nights backpacking the Island. What a great place! We hike the perimeter of the Island in one day. Not sure I would go that far again since it was 22 miles but the trails are lovely. The beach on...More

Sorry, we did not camp...but spent the day biking (mountain only) the perimeter of this gorgeous island. We did see a number of rustic campsites and they too were scenic.

Yes, the place where you get on the boat rents bikes. I think there is also a bike rental in Munising.
