I bought four small chairs and a tiny table ( kid sized) that is just beautiful. I was skeptical about it being shipped from Africa to my door in a small town in South Texas. It was cheaper to send all that than I’d pay to ship it within Texas! I was shocked. If I had really believed it would arrive I would have ordered a lot more. Now I need to go back and pick out more interesting things!

We stopped here to look for something special and were very surprised by the quality and variety of objects. Super interesting place, good prices and truly original African crafts run by a very knowledgeable owner. Highly recommended!

Interesting and even spooky finds from the far reaches and darkest corners of Africa.
We live on the continent, but it was still fascinating to browse from tiny key ring sized gifts to larger than life carvings and even metal statues with mystical origins.
We were not there for that particular flavour of magic or handmade curios, but the crystals and stones, but enjoyed browsing sand found a few "thank you" momentous to take home. The staff are very knowledgeable of the area and well worth a stop and a chat.
We would have gladly bough a few cups of coffee, had that been available too.

I feel the curios at GRAGKOP GORGE was worth spending a penny or two. Bought two items there, one of which was a round table cloth with the Big 5 which my daughter in America had been wanting for some time.

We've just returned from 33 days in South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe and this is by far the shop with the most comprehensive selection of curios/artefacts in all of our travels. No mass produced stuff like everywhere else and lots of 1 offs from all over Africa.

Pieter, the 85 year owner, really knows his stuff, doesn't hassle you to buy and will take all day to answer your questions about the artefacts he sells if needed.

Pieter was also able to quote on the spot for shipping back home which we took advantage of and those few things we did take with us were very well wrapped and protected.

Can highly recommend.

*Likely to sell out: Based on Viator’s booking data and information from the provider from the past 30 days, it seems likely this experience will sell out through Viator, a Tripadvisor company.
