Tour is very inexpensive - $1 US per person. The employee that gave the tour was knowledgeable and very pleasant. You get a quick but thorough overview of the entirely manual process of drying, cracking, sorting, grading, and packing the nutmeg. You may get a peek at the ladies actually doing the work at the opposite end of the warehouse about 200 feet away. I learned more about nutmeg processing in Grenada from online texts, better visuals too. The warehouse smells divine.

We planned on visiting the Gouyave Nutmeg Processing Plant and when we arrived (12/30/2022), we were told this plant no longer allows tours. You have to take a bus to Victoria, about 10 minutes away. It is on the same bus route so we went to the plant in Victoria and got a tour there.

Not a seek out stop, but ok as a quick pit stop. Tour is just $1 per person. Wouldn't spend more than 15 mins here. The place is very small and the tour guide was quite knowledgeable. The process is quite manual of drying, breaking, sorting, grading, and then packaging it. They have a shop where you can purchase nutmeg products and had clean toilets.

If you’re taking public transportation from St. George’s to this place in Guoyave, it’s EC $4.50 per person and takes about 40 minutes. Because of all the hills, bad roads and speeding, the drive was very bumpy and uncomfortable.
The entrance fee was EC $2.70 per person. There’s a shop at the entrance where you can purchase locally made products from the nutmeg.
Once you exit the shop into the factory, you’ll be met by one of the workers who will give you a tour and explain how the nutmeg is harvested and processed. Quite interesting information and very informative.
The building is quite old and the operations seem very out-of-date with several ladies sitting and sorting the nutmeg by hand that flow from upstairs.
The tour was quite short so you’ll be out of there in no time. You can wait on the road just outside the factory to catch the same bus back into town.

Not a high point of our trip. Took all of 10 minutes. Not exciting but then I’m not sure what I was expecting.

This was a humbling experience - everything in the nutmeg process is done by hand by piece workers, from shelling to grading to sewing the sacks. The smell in the processing plant is intoxicating - hard to imagine such a strong nutmeg aroma! Really interesting and I will never take my nutmeg for granted again.

Authentic short tour of this original nutmeg processing plant. Yes, as the last review says , it may been a little more informative but this is a working factory that is clearly struggling to survive. I wonder who would pay for the Disneyland type experience suggested?
Well worth a visit .

It was interesting to see the process in action. It's hard, labourious hours for the women working there, sorting the nutmeg. However, the tour was very short, around 10-15 minutes. Hence, if you traveled all that way specifically for that, then I think you could well be disappointed. We visited the place as part of an all day island tour. So if you're planning a visit as a short stop, then it would be of interest. The people there certainly don't have an easy work life.

Not worth the trip there. Too short, too difficult to understand accented English spoken at speed. Villagenice, though, with friendly fishermen on the pier.

was able to see all the processes of production of mace and nutmeg and how hard these people work for their living, they are paid for a per pound production of the spices. Interesting is that the prices of the spices are better from the locals outside the factory are better than in the factory shop

They are open from early morning to about 5 pm. If they are open they will arrange a tour for a group of individuals. They are closed on Sundays. Go into the gift shop and let the clerk know that you are interested in a tour and they will arrange the details with you.
