This is a great place to take kids. We took two 9 yr olds and they really enjoyed it. There is a snowmobile & an ATV to "ride" while watching a screen that moves along a trail up north. There is a "tree" to climb...More

I have brought many children here as a social worker over the last few years. It's a very fun, interactive place where they learn while they play. Worth a trip with the kiddos.

The DNR has put together a wonderful museum showcasing the natural resources of Michigan. I really appreciate that this is an affordable experience for families. ($14 for one adult and 3 kids) The displays were very informative. There were many interactive displays for kids to...More

This is a great place to learn about Michigan wilderness. It is also a fantastic place to take young ones on a rainy day or in the winter to expel some energy. The price is very affordable. The facilities are well maintained. There are exhibits...More

When the weather is not pleasant, this is a great place to allow kids to experience Michigan's Great Outdoors in a climate controlled environment. Think of it more as the Great Outdoors 101, focused on children ages 2-12. Lots of neat hands-on exhibits that provide...More

I took my daughter (4 1/2), and my nephew 5 months. Unfortunately, I didn’t have his stroller so I carried him in his car seat. We had fun, however, I wished the front desk would have warned me about the only way is “UP” tree....More

For $16 our family of 4 spent almost two hours here. The place was clean, well staffed, and educational. We love the outdoors and wanted something to do in Detroit on a rainy day, this place was perfect.

Go to Belle Island and then come back to the DNR Outdoor Adventure Center. I would describe as a Cabela's for kids. Lots of exhibits for kids, including a huge artificial indoor water fall. Kids and climb an indoor tree, practice kayaking, fishing, and even...More

Parking in on site next to the building. There is also an open overflow lot last time we went we did not have to park there. I have not had to pay for parking when we visited.
