Storrowton Village Museum is a collection of buildings from around New England and date from 1767 - 1850. Two of the buildings represent homes from around the time of the Revolution. There is a schoolhouse, a functioning blacksmith shop, a law office, a Meeting House, and a Tavern. One of the original homes serves as offices and country store. There is also a Christmas Shop in the right side of the Potter Mansion. There is a large herb garden behind the Gilbert Farmhouse where both medicinal and cooking herbs are grown. Guides dressed in period costumes will guide you through the history of the times and give many details about the buildings and their former owners. The Village is open during the Big E fair, and at other times during the year.

Is a small venue, but worth taking the time. Much valley history here, and the staff were very friendly, and answered all our questions. They were not busy, sad as more people would enjoy coming here if they knew about it.

Such a disappointment! We were long time fans of this restaurant, but no more. We were seated, did not get a drink order for 25 minutes. Server spilled wine on our table and onto my legs. Meals were ridiculously slow, owner spent his time chitchatting with the groupies of the band. He saw our empty water glasses for 45 minutes and did nothing, was more interested in bringing the groupies free drinks to sample. In our stupidity, we ordered an after dinner drink to enjoy the band. My drink came, my husbands never came. He finally sought her out to get the check she said sorry I forgot your drink. We then sat for another 20 minutes waiting for the check. Which the owner witnessed. Did nothing. My husband finally got up and brought the check inside. Food was good, but not 3 1/2 hours good. Service is atrocious and unapologetic. Even the owner should be ashamed of himself.

Interesting museum and very informative! The people that they have working here, demonstrating and answering questions are very informative and have a lot of patience! A little girl had a question but they took their time answering her questions! It is an interesting place to take young children or preteens! My husband and I enjoyed this museum, as well!

We turned up early afternoon, but were told by a lady munching on a hamburger, that everyone had gone home for the day. We had a very quick wander around the empty site, got in our car and drove off as well.

Foresight 80 plus years ago brought many historic buildings to a common place to share with the public. I have only been here when the fair is open and this along with the Avenue of States (right across the street) is my favorite parts of the Big E.
Take the time to walk through and read and hear about the history of each of the building making up this "town".
There are plenty of artisans selling their products as well as some working their skills in plain site.
A must see.

I've been here a few times, it is fascinating to hear the in-character docents talk about life back in the old days. Last time here, I took some colleagues from India here, and they said the school reminded them of village schools they went to.

Take a step back in time at this wonderful museum on the grounds of the Big E. Tour the buildings and learn about life back in the 1800s. Costume docents are knowledgeable. Storrowton Village Museum offers events and activities year round. Some are free, some have a fee. There is even a summer camp for children that sells out every year. Many schools come here for field trips. The gift shop is stocked with unique items sure to please that hard-to-shop-for person on your list. This is a must see when in Western Massachusetts.

A little bit of history in the grounds of the Big E (the place where are the New England states have their state fair at the same time). Buildings and contents gathered from all over New England and moved or restored here. A step back in time with spending the whole day at a larger complex.
