This was an awesome mid-size zoo. We had 4 and 6 year old grandkids and had a great time! Snack bar not open, so brought picnic lunch.
95% of the animals were out to view. 90% of the displays were habitated, the animals seemed healthy for a summer day.
Was full 4-hour visit and kids are sound asleep and happy.
Great day.

Granted it was a hot day - 90 degrees - but it smelled worse than any other zoo I've been to. My impression was that the animals were not well cared for, maybe they are ok, but it didn't look that way to us. Where there were concrete pools for the animals there was algae. Where there were speakers the same Patriotic songs played repeatedly - very annoying to hear the same songs over and over and over... This was a sad depressing experience and a downer

DO NOT GO HERE! They do not take care of the animals. They neglect them and let them die! Terrible owner!

Smallish but nice. We have been coming to Lupa Zoo every other year and its very nice for smaller kids. its not a huge place with tons of municipal funding so dont expect anything extraordinary, but its nice just to get out and see some animals you would typically not get to see.

Great day out at the Lupa Zoo with the grand kids . Lots of fun and interesting animals to see. The animals love interacting with us. Grandkids enjoyed feeding and petting the animals.

This is the second time I have visited the zoo and both times i'm very disgusted at the way the animals are kept. Most don't have enough roaming space, especially the bears. The animals that have water such as the otters, ducks etc look like they are swimming in muddy water and hasn't been ever cleaned. The odor is horrible. Very run down. If you want to see how a zoo should be kept, go to Southwick's zoo in Mendon. It's worth the drive out there.

This is more like animal in double caged small areas. Everyone is in front of so many chain link fence you can barely see the animals and if you do see them they are very dirty and unkempt. You are in and out of the city within two hours because half of the exhibits are empty. The giraffe experience is now gone I am assuming he died with the way the rest of the animals were looking. Save your money and go elsewhere

First time guest at the Lupa Zoo and I was a bit concerned about how my experience would play out after reading all those negative feedbacks.

Well I must say, ignore all the negative feedback. It’s ridiculous to think that anyone would object to the cost of entry for Lupa Zoo. One single trip to McDonald’s for a couple burgers, fries and a shake cost more than the fee to get in, Senior or Adult! The cost to have the opportunity to feed some of the animals, ($5 for the large bag) is well worth the excitement your child or even an adult will have feeding them. Deplorable conditions someone commented, not at all. I would say to those naysayers, how about pitching in with a donation or volunteer a couple hours on a weekend if you care that much about it. The conditions were just fine. Once again, Ignore the negative feedback everyone! I was tremendously surprised by the amount of different varieties of animals that we saw; yes some animals were common to our native land but 85% were not.

I recommend this zoo to all who don’t mind dropping a few dollars for an afternoon out doing something different with the family. Heck it’s a steal when compared to what you pay to take them to a movie with soda and popcorn; 75% of the movies are nothing but violence anyway and offer absolutely no family engagement.

I’d give Lupa Zoo 10 STARS if the option was available!

Visited on a weekday with the grandchildren, ages 14, 12 and 10. From previous reviews I was afraid that these middle-schoolers would be bored, but quite the reverse. They loved the combination of common animals and unusual ones, and we spent a solid three hours wandering around the place.
The zoo is very clean and mostly shady, and the animals all looked happy and well-cared-for. We bought small bags of feed and enjoyed feeding the animals. Some favorites included the fennec fox, binturong, pygmy goats, otters, serval cat, capybara... lots more.
A note of caution to other grandparents: some of the paths are paved with bricks or cobblestones and I found the walking difficult in some areas. Otherwise we would recommend this for animal lovers of all ages.

Not much to do these days with Covid-19 but fortunately Lupa zoo was open. Nice quiet zoo to take the family. Seems to be less animals then before but still a fun visit.
