Travelling from Aghia Marina towards Kissamos on the national road you exit when sign posted Deliana Gorge. Wear walking boots preferably and a hat and take water. After the village of Deliana there is a sign post which indicates the gorge. The track down to...More

I made this walk in January, on a sunny day. No people, only us. It is easy to walk, smooth ups and downs. Vultures, goats and wild flowers almost ready for spring. Take a bottle of water with you.

Deliana Gorge is just outside the village of Deliana. A track leads you approximately 1 kilometre to a shaded parking area, which has a toilet and drinking water. The path through the gorge is fairly easy walking and if you are there between 10am and...More

We had never been in a gorge in Crete and were really impressed by the landscape. The gorge is very easy to walk. We expected the story of the vultures to be some kind of tourist trap but they actually were there! There was a...More

This is a great alternative to a whole day walk down the Samaria Gorge. Located on the outskirts of Deliana, sign posted as you drive out of the village. The start point is down a rough, but drivable, track that ends at a small carpark....More

I went here on April 30th without knowing first that I was going. I wished for water especially since I'd been drinking heavily the previous night. The Gorge is amazing we saw and photographed Dragon Arum plants, lizards, Griffon Vultures and swallowtail butterflies.

We came with children aged 7 and 9, so we did not complete the entire route, but it was a nice walk into the gorge. We saw many goats along the way. The walking is relatively easy in the beginning portion of the trail, entering...More

We parked at the picnic area and walked for about 40mins into the gorge, as far as a small chapel and what looked to be a community gathering place. Beautiful scenery and wildflowers. Sheep and goats grazing the hillsides or resting in the shade in...More
