What a fun, adventurous river tubing experience for the whole family. Some parts of this river is slower, some parts faster moving, a good variety and speed. We arrived around 12:30 noon, paid, everyone got a wristband, took a tube (and life vests for the younger kids), loaded with the tubs onto the yellow school bus that took us about a 10 minutes ride to the upper part of river. By the time we got into the river to start, we can see the water rising quickly from the release of the water from the upper part of the dam. (No point to come too early as the water level was too low so you're not going fast down the river, until the water rises.) And that's where the fun & adventure starts! This place was well run, very affordable price (compared to other places nearby), the family running the place nice. There are 2 clean porta potties and lots of tables where everyone can have lunch after. Great fun to social distance and be in the water and the great outdoors. We brought strings to tie some of the tubes together for the kids. And we saw some people even bring their own paddles. Unlike some places, they aren't strict with what type of shoes you wear (if you want to at all). I was hesitant to take my family there due to some negative reviews but this place didn't disappoint. Highly recommend and we'll surely come back. Compared to another tubing experience in NH, this river is way more fun, water a little deeper & and varied/adventurous (not just slow/lazy river all the way).

I rented two double floats for adults to ride with my children. My daughter is almost 6 and my son is 8. Both of our floats flipped over on the first set of rocks after the picnic area. It was very scary. It took a few seconds until the adults could reach the children. With the current so strong, we had a difficult time getting our floats and then getting to the side safely to get back in the float. Thankfully we had some other friends with us that could help. I would not recommend this for kids under 10. I ended up not finishing the river float and having my friends pick me up where the white water rafters get out.

Hyytinen Hollow Tubes is not a large enterprise. It is family owned by kind locals. They brought us to a trail head in what seemed like their family wagon and we wondered our way to the rivers edge. About an hour or two, and lots of laughs, later we had floated our way back to our car. The water was choppy in areas, enough for a relaxing thrill but it was never more than 3 feet deep. It was a great way to spend a leisurely hot summer afternoon! We'll be back.

The is a great secret as it is not advertised. A great value at $10 as other places are much more expensive! I went on Sunday, July 28th and there were plenty of tubes available. It is not a fancy place but I appreciate the friendly service. I only had to wait 5 minutes for the bus. I had called the day before and my many questions were answered with a-lot of patience! What a fabulous day!

It was our first family trip tubing and we had so much fun going down the river! But we will NEVER rent from hollow tubes again! Both mother and daughter who run it out of house were very Rude and unprofessional! They were talking very loud and rudely about my family in front of my family who were waiting for a ride after the "shuttle" which is there mini van that wreaked of Marijuana which isn't a problem but not ideal for children! They were unorganized but and the daughter was running around not doing what she was suppose to and mother was yelling at her half the time! We will definitely go back to the river but will DEFINITELY spend the extra money to rent somewhere else!

I hv 5 kids ages 4-13 and although i might not let my 4 yr old go down the river on tubes persay... I would allow them to float along the river bed on hyytinen hollow property...where u can get a 10$ picnic table campsite & hv a cookout enjoy the water... & still rent tubes for only 10$ each & let my older kids do the hour & 15 minute ride on white water rapids from zoar gap... They provide 5$ shuttles for driver of each party or possably if shuttle is available bring ur party & tubes up to starting point & float down / this is what we did. As i said my husband stayed with our youngest & our truck stayed in parking lot at tube rental place & hot dog stand... Sue-per dogs is also located @ same address...gourmet hotdogs! Nachos/ icecream/ waters/ sunblock/ water proof phone case etc. All available there also...i forgot my cash & thankfully they take credit cards now!!!! ( as i remember yrs bk, when they didnt) :)
I def dont think children should do this alone obviously...but with life jackets provided for all children under 100 lbs or 12 yrs old by hyytinen hollow...i feel this place is good for kids as well as adults!!! this is def sumth u want to do with ur kids if they like water, no how to swim & or are comfortable in water/
(But thats common sense) & if water is running above 1100 cfs over the damn, they clearly will tell u its not running kid friendly that day & blah blah!?
But in rapids & flowimg water ; u should always be aware!!!
And u can check water flow each day by calling 4133394786 & any other info u may hv reguarding tubing!
People this is not a lazy river... & if u need to see where u are getn out of water. I would recomend goin down path & over bridge on foot 1st/ but again there are flags on river bank, saying HOTDOGS ---> & Hyytinen hollow tubes rentals --->
on the right side of river bank u can clearly see them floating down!!! And hyytinen hollow property isnt small/ so if u accidently go past the signs; u still hv 1500 feet or more of property line where waters shallow & allow u to get out!!!
I read bad reviews on this place b4 & its really funny cuz i loved it everytime ive went!!! Yes, some people may hv bad experiences, but i hv too... I even fell out of my tube 4 yrs ago -at 7 months pregnant with my 4 yr old... & it wasnt the scariest thing i went thru in my life!? I wasnt happy at the time...water was freezing, lol. But i survived, & i still go every yr... So i would recommend this to people. Day camping, tubing, hotdogs, family fun!!! For 10$ each... U cant beat the heat/ so you mine as well go tubing!!! :)

This place is at someone's house. It definitely looks like it's being run out of someone's house. They gave us a map with clear directions on where to drop off the car, get in the river and get off the river. Unfortunately, it was our first time tubing in the Deerfield River so more guidance would have been helpful. The lady at the front said anyone under 12 should wear a lifejacket (they had plenty), but I would recommend it for your first time. The river was higher than normal and had really strong currents. Me and my two oldest fell out of the tube and it was a good thing I insisted on us all wearing lifejackets because we got tired. You are on your own! We got off at the wrong place, so I borrowed a phone to call them. It took over an hour to get picked up. The people there were really nice, but I think I'll stick to Crab Apple rafting even though it costs more money.
