Smaller lake but great fishing. Lame "boat launch", no motors so great lake for canoes, kayaks. Not very deep, heard it gets weedy, we shall see. Will definitely go back.

The kids and I spend most of our summer days here. I suggest getting the family membership if you go often as it will save money. Snacks and light lunches are very inexpensive and there are lifeguards on duty as well. Great bath house to clean up and get dressed after a day in the sun. Picnic areas available and there is shade too. A great way to spend the long summer days.

I've been here twice with my partner and his 11 year old daughter. It was the perfect hot day activity! We got there after noon both times and parking was scarce, although I've seen cars parked in no parking zones and outside the gates and it doesn't seem to be a problem. Once you park, you pay at the shed which is at the entrance to the beach- $5/adult and $3/ child. There is a season pass available $140 for nonresident family and $95 for residents of Belchertown. The beach is open June - August.

There are changing rooms and bathrooms; a snack shed with ice cream, popsicles, popcorn, etc.; several paddle boats for rent; life guards and a small beach. There is plenty of shade and you can hang out on the grass or the sand beach. It is a busy place with lots of families with children as well as single adults sunning. The price for seniors is $1/ non resident and free for residents. The beach is crowded but we've never had a problem finding a spot! The lake has been roped off so the area the life guards manage is reasonable. If you are a proficient swimmer you can go outside the roped off area. I have not found a need to do that because the water gets very deep and there is plenty of room to swim in the deeper areas. The shallow area is large enough so that is not an issue.

The life guards keep an eye on the boats too. These are all outside the roped off area. Every several hours there is a 10 minute time out of the water for the swimmers. I'm not quite sure why. A few other things that might be pertinent are: no flotation devices are allowed- I've seen noodles, boogie and kick boards and plenty of life jackets; no glass allowed; no drones and I think it's no smoking and no alcohol.

We will be frequenting this beach when we have children visiting, probably not with only adults.
