The top of Mt. Agamenticus has spectacular views of the ocean and the White Mountains in NH. The new accessibility Big A trail has wide crushed stone pathways for wheelchairs and strollers alike. About a two mile circle. Longer hiking trails for the more experienced...More

We drove up to Mt Agamenticus but hiking is possible. The view was quite lovely...to look in one direction and see the coast and another direction and see the mountains was really interesting. It appears that this area is still a "work in progress" and...More

This is a nice place to spend a half-day. It is a quick hike or drive up to the summit. You can park on Mountain Road then hike up or take hikes from the summit. All the trails are pretty short and well-marked. They have...More

On our list of activities at our hotel was visiting Mount Agamenticus. We were expecting this amazing mountain with beautiful views. We were quite surprised to find a small mountain with not great views. If you’re into hiking through trails I’m sure you will be...More

Yes, it's got lovely views, though I'm not sure if I would say spectacular views. Very popular with families with young children.Free parking is a nice bonus.

Have been coming to this area for years and never paid attention to signs indicating this mountain. Finally one morning decided to take the short drive up to the mountain and couldn't believe how great this place was. Spectacular views from all points. There are...More

One of my favorite stops in York. The highest spot for miles and it seems you can see forever from the summit. The winding road to the summit is a bit of a hoot as well.

So this is one of the highest points in southeast Maine, which doesn't necessarily mean much. It's only about 800 feet high, but it's an enjoyable enough way to spend an hour or two. We didn't hike up, but drove the road to the top....More

I was embarrassed to not have discovered this incredible place after having been a camper a little further north for decades. We hiked up last summer in July. The trails were a nice hike (meaning I worked up a sweat), and the views at the...More

No swimming spots on mountain. Many lakes, rivers and ocean near by. Most motels have pools.. Enjoy the mountain; then enjoy a swim.

Mt. Agamenticus is only 500 feet tall, so it isn't the largest mountain in the area. Mt. A is southwest of Kennebunkport and southwest of Ogunquit.
