Take the time to drive up Mount Battie and view the harbor. There's a small fee to enter the park. Having binoculars is a plus. On a clear day, you can see the Breakwater in Rockland.

When you visit Camden, the number one stop is visiting the top of Mt Battie. You can walk or drive to the top throufh the state park

Drive or hike up—the view from the top is magical. There is a stone tower at the top for cool shade and a little bit of history thrown in. Panoramas are placed near each lookout so that visitors can know what they are looking at....More

Edna St.Vincent Millay got it right. The view is awesome and give you a real sense of the geography of the bay.
