Worth a visit

There is a nice scenic drive to the farm. The atmosphere is great and the food as well. There are some interesting items on the menu. No craft beer were available when visiting, which was a bit of a letdown.

Beautiful Wine Estate with a fantastic Restuarant. They provide amazing food, wine tasting with food pairing. We had the Lamb Shank which was so yummy. Their pizza's looked fantastic and was very popular with the patrons. Thanks Philip for adding to making our visit so awesome!

Visiting our local wine farms
Mar 2021 • Family
Beautiful sceney, avg to good food. But disappointing wine, I tried to be open minded, and just could not find anything I like. Visited most of the wine farms in South Africa , this was the first winery which wines did not impress at all.

An incredible lunch at this venue. Booked on line and on arrival we were shown to our table within minutes. What a treat from the Jakkalsvlei wine selection to the variation of great food from Ribs to Pizza. We had Lamb Shank,Ribs Burgers and Pizza. Everyone was a culinary delight and our waitress Charmene' was outstanding. The views from this restaurant are amazing and a great day was experienced. Thanks to Jakkalsvlei for this experience.

We will return soon.
Mar 2021
Our meal and the wine were well up to the standard one expects from an establishment like this. We four visitors from George soaked up the atmosphere and
vowed to return soon. The management must be congratulated for making visitors so
welcome and for excellent service. Brett our waitron was most helpful.

What a let down compared to other wine estates
Feb 2021 • Couples
It was our first visit and not sure if we will go again to their restaurant. At first your impresion is that it is a beatifule venue on par with what you would expect in the Cape wine lands. Apart from the non atentative service, If you like waver thin overpriced pizzas with hardly any toppings then you will appreciate the venue and their offerings. We enjoyed some wine while scanning what people orderd before we decided on our very basic choice - see bill attached. The wine is excellent and worth adding to your wine selection. It is quite a drive so next time we will get more wine and skip the restaurant all together. Today we went to Pizza Vino in Hartenbos to enjoy a real pizza. See image attached, Briliant.

Well worth a return visit..
Nov 2020
We four elderly gentlemen from George usually have lunch at a different venue every month. This time we visited Jakkalsvlei. Our meal was excellent and the pork belly well. up to the standard expected at such an establishment. We like our wines and were not disappointed although the nominated driver only had a sip or three. This place has class and we purchased a fair amount of the "good stuff"to take. home. We will be back.

Picnic Style During Peak Season
Dec 2019
On a previous visit to Jakkalsvlei we sat in their restaurant, but this time around we visited in peak holiday season during which they open up their casual dining option which has more of a picnic style. Here they only do "build your own pizza" and they also stock the farms' beers and wines. As there are no waiters you place your order at the counter and collect once done. Infront of the restaurant they have a big, beautiful lawn that overlooks the valley and vineyards where we could sit and relax at picnic tables covered by 2 big tents. There were also live performances while we visited and the kids had a play area and a jumping castle to entertain them. Their beers include a Lager and a Pale Ale of which I enjoyed both and we also enjoyed our pizzas although we felt that they were on the pricier side. Although they are a bit in the middle of nowhere, I rate it is worth a try if you haven't been there before. The picnic area however does not take bookings so arrive early if you are a big group and want shade throughout the entire day. If you are going to the restaurant you definitely need to make a booking during peak season as they are very popular. Overall everyone had a fun time and as the farm is very beautiful you could easily spend the entire day there. Note: If you are planning on drinking wine at the picnic area you also need to buy glasses there.
