Like all the mountains it's hiked, and a lot! I would say that it's the perfect place to meet the locals. Of course, you should be fit. But, there are trails for everyone: from 30 minutes to 5 hours or more. Enjoy, make a present...More

Trails are well-marked and easy to follow. Carpets of lupine cover the lower slopes and there are wide views all along the moderate hike up. Parking is plentiful and there is a cafe restaurant at the base.

Completed the round trip hike in 3.5 hours early on a Sunday morning, but could go more quickly. Did not need trekking poles, though some hikers were using them. A few locals also hiking trail. Fantastic view from the summit of the area around Reykjavik....More
